Dear Friend of Liberty,
The other night, Barack Obama gave his first nationwide address as President. To be sure, it was an historic event, but the vision for the future he delivered contradicts many of our historic American values.
Although he denied believing in Big Government, Obama delivered a resounding celebration of federal programs and prescribed more intervention than ever as the cure for our ills.
But this plan stands opposed to the vision of our Founding Fathers.
In 1801, in his first State of the Union, Thomas Jefferson proclaimed that the pillars of American prosperity are “most thriving when left most free to individual enterprise.”
Because they understood the vital importance of fiscal restraint, our early Presidents were often able to announce budget surpluses during the State of the Union.
While Barack Obama warned against the burden of debt upon our posterity, he attempted to defend his own profligate deficit spending as necessary to restart the economy.
This deficit is not a down payment on a future surplus, and his massive “stimulus” spending will only prolong our economic suffering, not hasten our recovery.
This crisis resulted from spending, borrowing, and printing too much money. We lived far beyond our means, forming an overblown bubble of consumption.
And now that bubble has burst.
Instead of returning to a sound and sustainable economic policy, Barack Obama wants to reinflate that artificial boom and leave it to the next generation of Americans to deal with the disastrous consequences of a bust.
And those consequences cannot be overstated. Our federal government is currently on the hook for $56 TRILLION in total liabilities and unfunded commitments.
At this very minute, an American child is born into $184,000 of debt.
Our children and grandchildren will be too insolvent to pass the buck along to the next generation. We must stand up now for this nation’s future.
Campaign for Liberty is leading the charge against Barack Obama’s bankrupt future by fighting to restore the America our Founders envisioned – a nation of free markets, free people, and sound money.
We can restore America’s promise of a better future. But we will need your help.
Campaign for Liberty operates like government should, meaning we will not go into debt. Only your ongoing financial support allows us to stand up against Barack’s broken vision for America.
Please help us in this important fight. If you are able to give to Campaign for Liberty at this time, please click here. If not, we still thank you for standing alongside us in our fight for freedom.
With your help, we can start a R3volution to restore America to the free and prosperous nation our Founders envisioned.
Thank you for taking a stand with us at this critical hour.
John Tate, President
Campaign for Liberty
P.S. We stand at an historic crossroads. If we do not stand up for our Founding Fathers’ vision for America, Barack Obama will certainly take us down his path to Big Government and bankruptcy.
Your TV is a propaganda machine/Obama’s cabinet buddies helped create this economic collapse/And Obama wants you to be rendered defenselessFebruary 28, 2009
“Just more concrete evidence that your TV is a vomit spewing propaganda machine. Ron Paul is one of the few people speaking about the root causes of this economic collapse and the media basically shuns him, (see video below). Have you ever watched a lengthy c-span session of Ron Paul schooling the devil, I mean Bernanke, on real sound economics. You should see the way Bernanke looks at Ron Paul… like the young kid who stole money from his moms purse and he’s getting lectured by his older much wiser Grandfather on life lessons.
The economic situation we are caught in is scaring a lot of people and that is exactly what they want. They created this situation, (financial collapse), and were are seeing the reaction, (scared, nobody standing up for themselves), and they will have a solution, (total control), to save all of you slaves. The majority of people in this country are playing right into their hands. A lot of Americans have become weak mentally and spiritually. They need to toughen up and face reality because your reality will be far worse in the future if you don’t. For whatever reason you bought into the Obama craze you really need to take a second look. (It happened to me with Clinton but I was a kid who’s only worries were getting fucked up and getting my weasel greased).
The Obama administration has been the strongest voice against the 2nd Amendment, (right to bare arms), of maybe any other administration in United States history. It’s just the right timing, seeing our country is literally being “looted” by large banking interests. And Obama will do nothing about it & Bush did nothing about it. (are you getting it yet?)
Good law abiding armed American citizens, (which is the majority of U.S. gun owners), are the last defense this country has to fight a government that has gone tyrannical.
This is maybe the biggest clue for a “sensible” person who deals with facts to realize there is something very sick & wrong about Obama and his administration.
Obviously, nobody likes to see young children or innocent people the victims of “gun” violence. But because of a “few” isolated stories about a six year old shooting someone, (because his parents are idiots for not keeping their weapon in a secure safe place), or the innocent person caught in a drive by shooting… they want to take away guns from all people. There is a reason these kind of stories are plastered all over the news and media…there is an agenda to disarm the American people of their weapons. You can stop your internal dialog right now…things would be safer…guns out of criminals hands, etc, etc. Your wrong. You’ve been indoctrinated with this mind set. Here are some F*A*C*T*S* for your borderline retarded internal dialoging:
The estimates vary but there are about 300 million law abiding gun owners in America. The amount of “tragic” gun violence or incidents you see and read is so insignificant to that 300 million number it’s laughable. Not laughable at the victims, but how these stories are hammered into the publics heads over and over through the media. It’s nothing short of brainwashing techniques. What about the stories, (which by far outnumber the tragic), about gun owners who were able to protect their family from a home invasion? They happen all the time but they don’t indoctrinate you with that logic, do they?
Automobiles kill hundreds of thousands more every year than guns do. People with there hands and fists kill thousands more every year than guns do. Swimming pools kill thousands more every year than guns do, (go ahead Copernicus, check out the numbers). So, with the Obama administrations logic behind gun control… we should remove all cars from the roads, cut off all people’s hands, and ban all swimming pools.
People you really need to snap out of your slumber. The new boss, (Obama), is as bad as the old boss, (Bush). And the people who control them, (i.e. banking elite, Rockefellers, etc), are the ones we really need to worry about. Stop being distracted like little children, (TV, video games, cell phones), and wake up to reality. If you don’t soon then good luck and thanks for fucking it up for the rest of us. [These things happen. Power breeds corruption. Always has and it always will]. I’m trying as hard as I can to alert people because something happened at some point recently that knocked common sense out the fuck of peoples heads. Believe me, I would have rather spent the time it took to write this letter, doing my art and music stuff. But because most of America is in such a state of denial… I feel I have too, as do many others, and the numbers are always rising.
Although, clearly not practiced by all, the truth is an irresistible force that can never die as long as man walks the earth. Our Liberty and Freedoms are currently under attack by our own government. You can stop your internal dialog because it’s the absolute truth. And please turn off that goddam television.”

The very people who molded this financial collapse are in the Obama administration. Simply put… they were rewarded for doing so, because the real people who run this country want it to collapse:
* Geithner as the president of the New York Federal Reserve Bank in the winter of 2007 neglected to address the impending trouble in the credit markets because to have done so would have upset the Wall Street achievetrons folding and refolding sets of imaginary numbers into paper hats and airplanes;
* Gates as deputy director of the CIA in the 1980s painted his portrait of the evil Soviet empire to match the one walking around in Ronald Reagan’s head, unwilling to believe that the Red Menace was mortal until the collapse of the Berlin Wall in 1989 exposed his intelligence estimates as works of science fiction;
* Summers in 1998 as President Bill Clinton’s deputy secretary of the Treasury served as one of the principal sponsors of our current financial debacle, facilitating repeal of the Glass- SteagallAct and joining with Secretary Robert Rubin (Harvard, Yale Law) and Federal Reserve Bank Chairman Alan Greenspan (New York University) to force the resignation of Brooksley Born, chair of the Commodities Futures Trading Commission, who urged regulation of the markets in new derivatives.
The motion to block the large-scale accumulation of toxic debt ran counter to the belief, then all the rage among the bankers at JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs as among the members of the Palm Beach Country Club, that money, deftly cultivated by its cronies, grows on trees.
Now to the Ron Paul Story (finally):
CNBC anchors were left dumbfounded and acted overtly cantankerous yesterday after Congressman Ron Paul’s opening statement at the House Financial Services Committee was broadcast live to an audience of millions.
CNBC went live to the House, clearly without knowing that the Texas Congressman had the initial Republican statement at the hearing of Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke.
After the Congressman spent two and a half minutes lecturing Bernanke on sound money principles, warning that the financial crisis cannot be solved by merely creating credit out of thin air, CNBC cut back to the studio.
Anchors Erin Burnett and Mark Haines were so perturbed by what they had just heard that they immediately cut to a commercial break:
Haines: “This is not going as planned”
Burnett: “No it is not”
Haines: “We were told that there would be a very limited number of opening statements, and it seems to be getting out of control.”
Burnett: “Here’s what we forgot, everybody is taking this live, you know what that means? Why would they miss an opportunity for free air time?”
Haines: “We’re going to take a commercial break and get them out of the way, so that when something really substandard [he must mean substantial?] is happening, we don’t have to interrupt them.”
Watch the video:
The Congressman’s speech was powerful and eye opening:
“This is the end of an era,” said Paul, “we can’t reinflate the bubble….if we think that we can reinflate this bubble by artificially creating credit out of thin air and calling it capital, believe me we don’t have a prayer of solving these problems – we have a total misunderstanding of what credit is versus capital.”
Of course, in the eyes of the corporate media shills for the Fed, the Treasury, and Wall Street Paul’s words were “out of control”. How dare he speak such sense and actively question the logic of the almighty ones, our only hope, our saviors (who also happen to be the very same set of criminals that led us down the path to economic ruin in the first instance).
Then again, how could we expect anything else from the likes of CNBC’s Burnett and Haines, who havepreviously demonstrated a total lack of understanding of the underlying causes of the financial crisis, even commenting that gold has “no inherent value”.
Why shouldn’t the U.S. fund the population controllers at the United Nations, as Huffington Post columnist Cristina Page proposes? (See “The Pro-Lie Movement Targets Hillary,” 2 December 2008). The short answer is that the U.N. Population Fund (UNFPA) is implicated in some of the most coercive anti-people campaigns in the world today.
Started in 1969 following a massive lobbying effort by billionaire John D. Rockefeller III, the UNFPA claims to work to “reduce poverty and to ensure that every pregnancy is wanted, every birth is safe, every young person is free of HIV/AIDS, and every girl and woman is treated with dignity and respect.” In fact, the UNFPA, like its founder, believes that the way to reduce poverty is to reduce the numbers of the poor through sterilization, contraception, and abortion campaigns.
We know. We have conducted repeated investigations of UNFPA operations around the world. We have found that, despite its soothing rhetoric about improving “reproductive health,” and “safe motherhood” ― the UNFPA spends a huge chunk of its budget on soporific propaganda — the agency continues to be fixated on the numbers. We have documented its involvement in coercive population control policies in countries like China, Vietnam, Peru, and North Korea, as well as in refugee camps around the world.
Its intimate connection to China’s brutal one-child policy merits special attention. For three long decades, the Chinese government has aborted and sterilized millions of women each year. For three long decades, the UNFPA has provided financial aid, ideological encouragement, and international sanction to these abuses through its offices in Beijing and around the Chinese countryside. This shameless pattern of complicity in some of the worst human rights abuses on the planet is the chief reason why the Bush administration, for seven years running, has refused to fund the UN agency.
We at PRI have hard evidence on the UNFPA’s involvement in coercion ― videotapes, cassette tapes, written and spoken testimony from dozens of witnesses. Our information was verified by the U.S. State Department, and is accessible on our web site, as well as in our new video series: Exposure: Investigative Realism from PRI. Even Secretary of State Colin Powell, who in the past has been friendly towards the UNFPA, declared the UNFPA ineligible for U.S. funding because of its complicity in forced abortion and forced sterilization.
Now, none of this matters to the radical base of the population control movement, which remains determined to shovel as many U.S. tax dollars into the UNFPA maw as possible. Cristina Page went so far as to call us lunatics for daring to challenge the UNFPA’s programs:
Just when UNFPA was succeeding in proving to the Chinese the one-child policy was not only inhumane but also ineffective, PRI swooped in with its claims of complicity. Bush, eager to lock lips with his fanatical base, ignored the advice of his own state department, as well as many allied nations, and opted to go with the swirly eyed lunacy of the six staffers of PRI. At their request, Bush quickly froze all U.S. funds to UNFPA, which represented 12 percent of its budget.
Like other population control hardliners, Ms. Page does not attempt to refute our evidence. Instead, she mindlessly recites the UNFPA’s party line. Does anyone really that the UNFPA is “succeeding”―after three long decades―in bringing an end to a policy that the Chinese government proudly proclaims will persist until 2050? Her claim that Bush ignored the advice of his state department is likewise a fantasy. What Colin Powell, Bush’s first Secretary of State, actually said was: “Stop the Funding.”
Ms. Page has no real arguments to make against us, which is probably why she resorts to sandlot slurs. But we stand by our research and our findings. And we remain firmly convinced that the UN Population Fund serves no useful purpose, and should be abolished.
The population control programs of the past half-century, born in the dark fear of “the unchecked growth in human numbers,” have been a quiet but profound disaster for the poor and marginalized half of humanity. Hundreds of millions of poor women (and men) have had their fundamental rights–i.e., to control their own reproductive systems and to determine the number and spacing of their children–grossly violated. An even larger number have had their overall wellbeing compromised as resources have been drained away from primary health care programs, with some succumbing to HIV/AIDS and other epidemics. While the cost of such programs in terms of human lives and suffering has been all too real, the promised benefits have proven largely illusory. Is the U.S. more secure, the global environment better protected, and the world wealthier today because of population control programs? Are the poor better off? The evidence suggests not.
The idea of controlling human fertility “for the good of the state and its people,” as Beijing is fond of saying, is a 20th century anachronism. It deserves to be as thoroughly discredited as Marxist-Leninism, and for the same reason: It is at heart a philosophy of state coercion. In its more extreme manifestations in China and elsewhere, it has given rise to terror campaigns. But even in its mildest guises, it encourages a technocratic paternalism that effectively subjugates individual and familial fertility desires to the wishes of the state.
The U.S. should not only continue to avoid funding the U.N. Population Fund, it should withdraw entirely from the organization. As far as the UNFPA itself, this creation of Rockefeller and his cronies should be shut down. Whatever legitimate health functions it performs can be transferred to the World Health Organization, UNICEF, or other international organizations. Some small programs, like that instituted to address the problem of obstetric fistula, may be worth saving. Others are Potemkin facades erected to con critics and deceive women.
We―and the women of China, Vietnam, North Korea, etc.―are not fooled.

“We could all learn a thing or two maybe three from this American Hero, General Smedley Butler. What your about to read & see is undisputed historical fact… but just keep thinking to yourself this kinda thing couldn’t happen today… to us? Just assume that the globalist power elite control freaks, (of today), who run this country have all of our best interests in mind. Just assume these elite bankers don’t run our “Federal” Reserve, (which is a “private” company there’s nothing “Federal” about it). Just assume that hard working Americans tax dollars numbered in the trillions is not going straight in the pockets of these bankers with all of these “bailouts & stimulus’s.” Just assume that the Federal Reserve does not refuse to even tell members of our Congress were these trillions of bailout dollars are actually going. Just assume that Bloomberg isn’t suing the Fed to find out who’s getting the bailout cash. Just assume Obama has no idea any of this is going on & he’s here to stop these guys. Just assume that the Obama administration is hell bent on taking law abiding Americans guns away to protect us, not because they are scared shitless about Americans “awakening” to what is really going on in this country. Just assume I am the crazy one. Nothing to worry about. Just zone out on that TV and assume our liberty and freedoms are not at stake.”
And don’t assume, (if you accept the truth of what is really going on in this country), there’s nothing you can do about it. Assume you can change the world. Because you can. You are on the good side.
I don’t mean to be preachy it’s just tough love. Enjoy:
General Smedley Butler
In 1934, General Butler exposed a plot for a fascist coup that originated on Wall Street aimed at giving American bankers and corporations total control of government (reminds you something?). It involved the Rockefellers, the DuPonts and … George Dubya’s grandfather — Senator Prescott Bush! The son and grandson of a fascist shitheel hope to be more successful now…
The following is Chapter 5 of General Smedley Butler’s book War Is A Racket, originally printed in 1935. Notice how relevant it is now!
To Hell With War!
I am not a fool as to believe that war is a thing of the past. I know the people do not want war, but there is no use in saying we cannot be pushed into another war.
Looking back, Woodrow Wilson was re-elected president in 1916 on a platform that he had “kept us out of war” and on the implied promise that he would “keep us out of war.” Yet, five months later he asked Congress to declare war on Germany.
In that five-month interval the people had not been asked whether they had changed their minds. The 4,000,000 young men who put on uniforms and marched or sailed away were not asked whether they wanted to go forth to suffer and die.
Then what caused our government to change its mind so suddenly?
An allied commission, it may be recalled, came over shortly before the war declaration and called on the President. The President summoned a group of advisers. The head of the commission spoke. Stripped of its diplomatic language, this is what he told the President and his group:
“There is no use kidding ourselves any longer. The cause of the allies is lost. We now owe you (American bankers, American munitions makers, American manufacturers, American speculators, American exporters) five or six billion dollars.
Had secrecy been outlawed as far as war negotiations were concerned, and had the press been invited to be present at that conference, or had radio been available to broadcast the proceedings, America never would have entered the World War. But this conference, like all war discussions, was shrouded in utmost secrecy. When our boys were sent off to war they were told it was a “war to make the world safe for democracy” and a “war to end all wars.”
Well, eighteen years after, the world has less of democracy than it had then. Besides, what business is it of ours whether Russia or Germany or England or France or Italy or Austria live under democracies or monarchies? Whether they are Fascists or Communists? Our problem is to preserve our own democracy.
And very little, if anything, has been accomplished to assure us that the World War was really the war to end all wars.
Yes, we have had disarmament conferences and limitations of arms conferences. They don’t mean a thing. One has just failed; the results of another have been nullified. We send our professional soldiers and our sailors and our politicians and our diplomats to these conferences. And what happens?
The professional soldiers and sailors don’t want to disarm. No admiral wants to be without a ship. No general wants to be without a command. Both mean men without jobs. They are not for disarmament. They cannot be for limitations of arms. And at all these conferences, lurking in the background but all-powerful, just the same, are the sinister agents of those who profit by war. They see to it that these conferences do not disarm or seriously limit armaments.
The chief aim of any power at any of these conferences has not been to achieve disarmament to prevent war but rather to get more armament for itself and less for any potential foe.
There is only one way to disarm with any semblance of practicability. That is for all nations to get together and scrap every ship, every gun, every rifle, every tank, every war plane. Even this, if it were possible, would not be enough.
The next war, according to experts, will be fought not with battleships, not by artillery, not with rifles and not with machine guns. It will be fought with deadly chemicals and gases.
Secretly each nation is studying and perfecting newer and ghastlier means of annihilating its foes wholesale. Yes, ships will continue to be built, for the shipbuilders must make their profits. And guns still will be manufactured and powder and rifles will be made, for the munitions makers must make their huge profits. And the soldiers, of course, must wear uniforms, for the manufacturer must make their war profits too.
But victory or defeat will be determined by the skill and ingenuity of our scientists.
If we put them to work making poison gas and more and more fiendish mechanical and explosive instruments of destruction, they will have no time for the constructive job of building greater prosperity for all peoples. By putting them to this useful job, we can all make more money out of peace than we can out of war — even the munitions makers.
So … I say,
TO HELL WITH WAR!
“Yes, your government knowingly adds this to our drinking water and other products like toothpaste. But just assume that they are looking out for you and that they are not criminal puppets working for the globalist control freaks. Don’t worry you are not under their control, you are a very free person living in a town called Ignorance from a country called Bliss.”
Key Findings – Fluoride & the Brain: (Click for more detail)
1) Fluoride’s ability to damage the brain represents one of the most active areas of research on fluoride toxicity today.
2) The research on fluoride and the brain has been fueled by 18 human studies from China, India, Iran, and Mexico finding elevated levels of fluoride exposure to be associated with IQ deficits in children. Fluoride’s impact on IQ is exacerbated among children with low-iodine exposure.
3) The impact of fluoride on children’s IQ has been documented even after controlling for children’s lead exposure, iodine exposure, parental education and income status, and other known factors that might impact the results (Rocha-Amador 2007; Xiang 2003 a,b).
4) In addition to IQ studies, 3 studies (Yu 1996; Du 1992; Han 1989) have found that fluoride accumulates in the brain of the fetus, causing damage to cells and neurotransmitters and 1 study (Li 2004) has found a correlation between exposure to fluoride during fetal development and behavioral deficits among neonates.
5) Several recent studies have found that even adult exposures to fluoride may result in central nervous system disturbances, particularly among industrial workers.
5) The findings of neurological effects in fluoride-exposed humans is consistent with, and strengthened by, recent findings from over 40 animal studies published since 1992. As with the studies on humans, the studies on animals have reported an impairment in learning and memory prorcesses among the fluoride-treated groups.
6) The animal studies have also documented considerable evidence of direct toxic effects of fluoride on brain tissue, even at levels as low as 1 ppm fluoride in water (Varner 1998). These effects include:
— reduction in nicotinic acetylcholine receptors;
— reduction in lipid content;
— impaired anti-oxidant defense systems;
— damage to the hippocampus;
— damage to the purkinje cells;
— increased uptake of aluminum;
— formation of beta-amyloid plaques (the classic brain abnormality in Alzheimer’s disease);
— exacerbation of lesions induced by iodine deficiency; and
— accumulation of fluoride in the pineal gland.

HUMAN STUDIES– Fluoride’s Impact on IQ: (back to top)
“We found that exposure to fluoride (F) in urine was associated with reduced Performance, Verbal, and Full IQ scores before and after adjusting for confounders. “In our study, it was shown that the average IQ of children in a fluoride endemic area was somewhat lower than the control, but the result was not significant (P>0.05). The rate of children with “low” IQs, however, was elevated as compared to the control, and this was very statistically significant… Our study showed that, within the fluoride endemic area, the average IQ of children suffering from dental fluorosis is clearly lower than those that show no signs of the disease, and this result is very significant (P <0.01). This IQ difference of 8.12 suggests that children suffering from dental fluorosis might be particularly sensitive to excess fluoride, and that the manifestation of this is not limited to the typical symptoms of fluorosis, but, more seriously, also disrupts intellectual development.”

“For example, when one of us was late at the bus stop to leave the Staff College, the two officers used to tell us: ‘You’ll be noted in ‘Q eidat il-Maaloomaat’ which meant ‘You’ll be logged in the information database.’ Meaning ‘You will receive a warning . . .’ If the case was more severe, they would used to talk about ‘Q eidat i-Taaleemaat.’ Meaning ‘the decision database.’ It meant ‘you will be punished.’ For the worst cases they used to speak of logging in ‘Al Qaida.’
“In the early 1980s the Islamic Bank for Development, which is located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, like the Permanent Secretariat of the Islamic Conference Organization, bought a new computerized system to cope with its accounting and communication requirements. At the time the system was more sophisticated than necessary for their actual needs.
“It was decided to use a part of the system’s memory to host the Islamic Conference’s database. It was possible for the countries attending to access the database by telephone: an Intranet, in modern language. The governments of the member-countries as well as some of their embassies in the world were connected to that network.
“[According to a Pakistani major] the database was divided into two parts, the information file where the participants in the meetings could pick up and send information they needed, and the decision file where the decisions made during the previous sessions were recorded and stored. In Arabic, the files were called, ‘Q eidat il-Maaloomaat’ and ‘Q eidat i-Taaleemaat.’ Those two files were kept in one file called in Arabic ‘Q eidat ilmu’ti’aat’ which is the exact translation of the English word database. But the Arabs commonly used the short word Al Qaida which is the Arabic word for “base.” The military air base of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is called ‘q eidat ‘riyadh al ‘askariya.’ Q eida means “a base” and “Al Qaida” means “the base.”
“In the mid-1980s, Al Qaida was a database located in computer and dedicated to the communications of the Islamic Conference’s secretariat.
“In the early 1990s, I was a military intelligence officer in the Headquarters of the French Rapid Action Force. Because of my skills in Arabic my job was also to translate a lot of faxes and letters seized or intercepted by our intelligence services . . . We often got intercepted material sent by Islamic networks operating from the UK or from Belgium.
“These documents contained directions sent to Islamic armed groups in Algeria or in France. The messages quoted the sources of statements to be exploited in the redaction of the tracts or leaflets, or to be introduced in video or tapes to be sent to the media. The most commonly quoted sources were the United Nations, the non-aligned countries, the UNHCR and . . . Al Qaida.
“Al Qaida remained the data base of the Islamic Conference. Not all member countries of the Islamic Conference are ‘rogue states’ and many Islamic groups could pick up information from the databases. It was but natural for Osama Bin Laden to be connected to this network. He is a member of an important family in the banking and business world.
“Because of the presence of ‘rogue states,’ it became easy for terrorist groups to use the email of the database. Hence, the email of Al Qaida was used, with some interface system, providing secrecy, for the families of the mujaheddin to keep links with their children undergoing training in Afghanistan, or in Libya or in the Beqaa valley, Lebanon. Or in action anywhere in the battlefields where the extremists sponsored by all the ‘rogue states’ used to fight. And the ‘rogue states’ included Saudi Arabia. When Osama bin Laden was an American agent in Afghanistan, the Al Qaida Intranet was a good communication system through coded or covert messages.
Al Qaida was neither a terrorist group nor Osama bin Laden’s personal property . . . The terrorist actions in Turkey in 2003 were carried out by Turks and the motives were local and not international, unified, or joint. These crimes put the Turkish government in a difficult position vis-a-vis the British and the Israelis. But the attacks certainly intended to ‘punish’ Prime Minister Erdogan for being a ‘toot tepid’ Islamic politician.
” . . . In the Third World the general opinion is that the countries using weapons of mass destruction for economic purposes in the service of imperialism are in fact ‘rogue states,” specially the US and other NATO countries.
” Some Islamic economic lobbies are conducting a war against the ‘liberal” economic lobbies. They use local terrorist groups claiming to act on behalf of Al Qaida. On the other hand, national armies invade independent countries under the aegis of the UN Security Council and carry out pre-emptive wars. And the real sponsors of these wars are not governments but the lobbies concealed behind them.
“The truth is, there is no Islamic army or terrorist group called Al Qaida. And any informed intelligence officer knows this. But there is a propaganda campaign to make the public believe in the presence of an identified entity representing the ‘devil’ only in order to drive the ‘TV watcher’ to accept a unified international leadership for a war against terrorism. The country behind this propaganda is the US and the lobbyists for the US war on terrorism are only interested in making money.” (Our emphasis, Ed.)
In yet another example of what happens to those who challenge the system, in December 2001, Maj. Pierre-Henri Bunel was convicted by a secret French military court of passing classified documents that identified potential NATO bombing targets in Serbia to a Serbian agent during the Kosovo war in 1998. Bunel’s case was transferred from a civilian court to keep the details of the case classified. Bunel’s character witnesses and psychologists notwithstanding, the system “got him” for telling the truth about Al Qaeda and who has actually been behind the terrorist attacks commonly blamed on that group. It is noteworthy that that Yugoslav government, the government with whom Bunel was asserted by the French government to have shared information, claimed that Albanian and Bosnian guerrillas in the Balkans were being backed by elements of “Al Qaeda.” We now know that these guerrillas were being backed by money provided by the Bosnian Defense Fund, an entity established as a special fund at Bush-influenced Riggs Bank and directed by Richard Perle and Douglas Feith.
“Not really a big fan of what actors have to say about politics because large amounts of the actors are… uhhh… idiots. Not all of them obviously. I don’t even know who this guy is but he’s no idiot thats fro sure.

Gary Webb, the legendary journalist who scooped the big papers and found himself punished for it, teaches the lesson that it’s often dangerous to speak truth to power.
Reviewed: “Kill the Messenger: How the CIA’s Crack-Cocaine Controversy Destroyed Journalist Gary Webb” by Nick Schou, Charles Bowden (Nation Books, 2006).
With “Kill the Messenger” (Nation Books/Avalon), Nick Schou, an editor at Orange County Weekly, provides a meticulous, balanced account of the life of Gary Webb, the former San Jose Mercury Newsreporter who, despite minor errors, basically got it right when he wrote the biggest story of his career. That story lifted the rug on a historical episode the mainstream media didn’t want to touch: How the Central Intelligence Agency turned a blind eye to drug dealing in furtherance of its covert support for the Nicaraguan contras. For his efforts, Webb was hounded out of journalism after a ferocious assault from America’s most prestigious newspapers, which Schou documents in painstaking and shameful detail. When Webb — who had once shared a Pulitzer Prize for his reporting — committed suicide in December 2004, it was the last chapter in a real-life American tragedy.
Webb was not the first one on to the story. AP reporter Robert Parry had been forced out of his job at the wire service for pursuing it. The U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Narcotics and Terrorism, chaired by Sen. John Kerry, conducted an investigation into the contras’ drug trafficking in 1987-88 that had documented (among other things) how CIA cargo planes ferried arms to the contras and then carried cocaine back to military bases and remote airfields on the return flights. But, as Schou notes, “Because of its sensitive nature, the committee … sealed most of the testimony, and Kerry’s investigation got scant play in the national news media.”
The Kerry investigation was mainly concerned with cocaine coming into the U.S. East Coast. Webb’s 1996 series for the Mercury News, based on a yearlong investigation, looked at the cocaine traffic in Los Angeles, which was then known as “the crack capital of the world.” Webb detailed how “Freeway” Ricky Ross, the first ’80s crack millionaire and a crack kingpin in L.A.’s South Central neighborhood, had been supplied with crack cocaine by Nicaraguan exiles and contra supporters with CIA connections. Webb discovered an affidavit from the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department that said that the coke profits of Ross’ suppliers “are transported to Florida and laundered through … a chain of banks in Florida. … From this bank the monies are filtered to the Contra rebels to buy arms in the war in Nicaragua.”
Webb’s articles, however, were unjustifiably hyped by the Mercury News‘ editors, who, according to Schou, were hungry to compete with the media Big Boys. The series ran with war-sized headlines and a silhouette of a man smoking a crack pipe superimposed on the official seal of the CIA. “Dark Alliance: The Story Behind the Crack Explosion,” screamed the paper, with a subhead claiming that “Crack Plague’s Roots Are in Nicaraguan War.”
The story got away from Webb and took on a life of its own, fueled by anger and despair in black communities being destroyed by the crack epidemic and the lethal gang wars surrounding it. As Schou puts it, “Dark Alliance” created an alliance of conspiracy theorists, from some “on the left who believed the CIA had deliberately started the crack epidemic to commit genocide against black people” to “right-wing followers of Lyndon LaRouche, who saw the story as further proof that George Bush Sr. and the Queen of England belong to a secret cabal that controls the planet.” Opportunistic politicians like Rep. Cynthia McKinney, D-Ga. — who exclaimed on the floor of Congress that “CIA” stood for “Central Intoxication Agency” — seized on Webb’s story to grab headlines for themselves. The “Dark Alliance” series quickly became a national cause célebre.
The Los Angeles Times — embarrassingly scooped on its own turf by Webb — reacted by assigning no less than two dozen reporters to what one of them described as the “Get Gary Webb Team,” running a takedown series on the “Dark Alliance” stories that dwarfed them in size. The Washington Post and theNew York Times piled on with multiple stories discrediting not just what Webb had written, but Webb himself, delving into his past to come up with mud to throw. Most of these papers’ “deconstructions” of Webb’s reporting were based on unnamed government sources. But the damage was done. In the end, the very Mercury News editors who’d made exaggerated claims for Webb’s series publicly disowned him in an editorial while refusing to print stories Webb wrote further documenting his series. Demoted to a remote police beat, Webb left the paper.
Unable to get another reporting job on any U.S. daily, his marriage destroyed by the intensity of his “Dark Alliance” experience, a depressed Webb killed himself. In Schou’s telling, he was the victim of incompetent editors and of a media feeding frenzy that theWashington Post‘s own ombudsman later described as misplaced. Throughout Kill the Messenger, Schou does fresh reporting that bolsters some of Webb’s findings. He also interviews some of those who helped incinerate Webb and who now admit they went overboard. The book is an important cautionary tale for anyone considering a career in investigative journalism. And the moral is: It’s often dangerous to speak truth to power.

They are basically changing the name of the project and are back to business, (destroying this country), as usual. You know, they might be grooming this asshole to be President. I also heard, (no idea if it’s true?), that they are using 20 something million from Obama’s turd bailout to rebuild the Governor’s Mansion after that “suspicious” fire that gutted the place. The fire that the media here in Austin were so quick to blame it on a supposed “radical activist.” No one was ever charged. Insurance fraud from a fraud? Governor Perry came to my work about 6 months ago on a very windy day. After he got inside he literally spent about two minutes trying to readjust “the hair” in between meet & greeting people. So00, worried about that hair. True story.

(an unrelated interesting story I found)
In the New York Times magazine on Sunday, Deborah Solomon interviewed Texas Governor Rick Perry, whose crusade in defense of the Boy Scouts of America is being supplemented by royalties from his new book On My Honor: Why the American Values of the Boy Scouts Are Worth Fighting For. The Boy Scouts, of course have been under fire for their discriminatory policies against gays. Most recently, they were evicted from a Philadelphia building they had leased for nearly 80 years because of the city’s anti-discrimination ordinance.
Perry says homosexuality is clearly just about sex, and there’s no place for sex in the Boy Scouts.
SOLOMON: Let’s talk about your new book, ‘On My Honor,’ which draws on your experience as an Eagle Scout and champions the values of the Boy Scouts of America, to whom you are donating your royalties.
PERRY: Yes, to their legal-defense fund.
SOLOMON: Which has been fighting the A.C.L.U., to keep gays out of the scouts. Why do you see that as a worthy cause?
PERRY: I am pretty clear about this one. Scouting ought to be about building character, not about sex. Period. Precious few parents enroll their boys in the Scouts to get a crash course in sexual orientation.
SOLOMON: Why do you think a homosexual would be more likely to bring the subject of sex into a conversation than a heterosexual?
PERRY: Well, the ban in scouting applies to scout leaders. When you have a clearly open homosexual scout leader, the scouts are going to talk about it. And they’re not there to learn about that. They’re there to learn about what it means to be loyal and trustworthy and thrifty.
SOLOMON: But don’t you think that homosexuals might also be interested in being loyal and thrifty?
PERRY: The argument that gets made is that homosexuality is about sex. Do you agree?
PERRY: Well, then why don’t they call it something else?
Perry recently told the AP: “Most Americans have a live-and-let-live view about homosexuality. Scouting’s leaders have the same tolerant view, but they do not believe that someone whose personal agenda is to make an open issue of his sexual orientation should be a Scout leader. Scouting is not about sex, but about building character … The Boy Scouts is not the proper intersection for a debate over sexual preference.”

An alert last week asked you to urge your representative to oppose a
massive land bill that was scheduled to come before the full House at
The good news is that opposition to the bill grew so loud that the
leadership pulled it from the calendar so they would have more time to
muster enough votes to pass it.
Well, that also gives you another chance to contact your own
representative to tell him to OPPOSE the anti-Second Amendment Omnibus
Land Act. The bill, S. 22, is now scheduled to be voted on this week.
S.22 is a mammoth bill comprised of over 190 separate pieces of
legislation and will come to the floor with a rule that will not allow
pro-gun representatives to offer amendments.
There are serious Second Amendment concerns with this legislation. S.
22 will greatly expand the amount of land controlled by the National
Park Service (NPS). Because the rights of lawful gun owners are
restricted on NPS land, the bill will create even more
“anti-Second Amendment” zones.
In contrast to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the U.S. Forest
Service, which allow State and local laws to govern firearms
possession, NPS land was until recently subject to a complete gun ban.
In the waning days of his administration, President Bush partially
reversed the ban, but that half-way measure still leaves a significant
portion of the gun prohibition in place. Gun Owners of America has
fought for several years to fully repeal the NPS regulations, but those
efforts have been hampered by the anti-gun leadership of both the House
GOA opposes many parts of the bill that are controversial and have not
been debated on their individual merits.
Consider just a few provisions of the 1,294-page bill:
* Section 2002 codifies the National Landscape Conservation System,
which groups together 26 million acres of federal land and places it
under one umbrella agency. The NLCS was created during the Clinton
administration and run administratively since that time. S. 22 will
make the system permanent, raising concerns for hunters and sportsmen.
Much of this land is consolidated from the BLM and the Forest Service,
which have always allowed hunting and recreational shooting. It is
unclear what rules will be promulgated by the new agency and if gun
owners’ rights will be protected at all.
* Section 5204 of the bill establishes the Washington-Rochambeau Route
as a Historic Trail. This dual trail begins in Rhode Island and
travels 650 miles to Yorktown, Virginia. The trail includes parts of
major thoroughfares on the east coast such as Interstate 95 and US
Route 1, meaning the gun ban could effect hundreds of thousands of
unsuspecting gun owners each day.
* Section 5301 authorizes the federal government to buy private land
adjacent to national parks and trails. Such land would be controlled by
the NPS, and thus be subject to the agencies’ anti-gun regulations.
* Section 7002 makes the birthplace of William Jefferson Clinton a
National Historic Site. Well, perhaps it’s fitting that the legacy of
former President Clinton, who was responsible for so many anti-Second
Amendment laws, will include yet another “gun free” zone.
In all, the bill designates over 2 million acres of wilderness,
establishes three new national parks, a new national monument, three
new national conservation areas, and four new national trails.
If there are parts of the bill that could stand on their own, they
should be brought up separately and dealt with in an open and fair
process — and not used as bargaining chips in exchange for compromises
of your Second Amendment rights.
Some people on Capitol Hill contend that all of these bills already
passed the House anyway. In fact, no they haven’t. More than 70 of
these bills now before the House were only passed by the Senate. The
House of Representatives never even held hearings or open debate on
Representative Rob Bishop (R-UT) has indicated that he wants to at
least have the opportunity to offer an amendment to ensure that the
Second Amendment rights of all Americans are protected.
However, right now it looks as though the anti-gun House leadership
will refuse to allow any amendments to the bill, in order to ensure
that it goes straight to President Obama’s desk.
There is a possibility that an amendment to protect only hunting and
recreational shooting on federal land would be allowed. Such an
amendment by itself is not sufficient and is clearly designed as a
“cover” vote for gun rights compromisers.
Please contact your representative and urge him or her to insist that
an amendment be allowed to protect ALL of your Second Amendment rights
— not just hunting and recreational shooting.
ACTION: Please urge your Representative oppose S. 22. You can go to
the Gun Owners Legislative Action Center at
http://www.gunowners.org/activism.htm to send your Representative the
pre-written e-mail message below.
—– Prewritten Letter —–
I urge you to oppose S. 22. Among the many problems with this
1,294-page bill are the following concerns gun owners have:
Since it appears that amendments will not be allowed to this bill —
thus prohibiting any attempt to remove these troubling provisions — I
would urge you to vote against S. 22.

A MAN sought by the UK authorities for allegedly attempting to pervert the course of justice by sending a controversial DVD to a judge and jury foreman during a trial relating to bomb attacks in London in July 2005 has appeared before the High Court after being arrested in Co Meath.
Sheffield-born Anthony John Hill (60) was arrested by gardaí at his home in Carrick Street, Kells, early yesterday morning on foot of a European Arrest Warrant, Mr Justice John MacMenamin was told.
Mr Hill’s extradition is being sought in relation to his alleged actions during the trial of several people on conspiracy charges related to the attacks on July 7th, 2005, that took place on the London underground and a London bus.
It is alleged that, in May and June 2008, Mr Hill sent several copies of a DVD entitled 7/7 Ripple Effect to the judge and the foreman of a jury at the trial at Kingston Crown Court of people allegedly involved in assisting the 2005 bombings.
7/7 Ripple Effect is a film, available on the internet, which claims people accused of involvement in the bombings are innocent and that the bombings were an “inside job”, perhaps involving state intelligence agencies in either Britain or Israel.
The British authorities claim copies of the DVD were sent, in packaging with Irish postal marks, between September 2007 and December 2007 to five relatives of people who had been killed during the bombing.
In court yesterday, Sgt Seán Fallon said that when arrested at his Kells home at 8.14am, Mr Hill, when asked about the DVD, had said: “I sent it. I believe those men to be innocent.”
Sgt Fallon said Mr Hill had said that a friend of his had made the DVDs and that copies were made on his computer.
Gardaí took possession of computers at Mr Hill’s home yesterday and will apply to the court to send those computers to the British authorities.
The matter was adjourned by Mr Justice MacMenamin to February 18th and Mr Hill was remanded in custody.

Afghans: “A lot of people say that Osama is really from America… They say he’s just playing a role like a movie star.”February 23, 2009
By Michael Gisick, Stars and Stripes
KABUL, Afghanistan — To many in the Afghan capital, there’s an obvious explanation for the dramatic re-emergence of the Taliban — a force that seemed thoroughly dust-binned after the arrival of the world’s most powerful army seven years ago.
“Now,” as one 23-year-old Kabul shopkeeper, Qand Mohmadi, put it, “we think America is supporting both the Taliban and the Afghan government. That’s what everyone says.”
Indeed, the rumor of U.S. support for the Taliban is virtually ubiquitous in Kabul. And absurd as it might sound after a year in which American and other Western troops suffered record casualties in fighting with insurgents, many Kabul residents say they see at least a kernel of truth in the story.
“We don’t know for sure why they are doing it,” said Daoud Zadran, a middle-aged real estate broker. “Politics is bigger than our thoughts. But maybe America wants to build up the Taliban so they have an excuse to remain in Afghanistan because of the Iranian issue.”
Byzantine political conspiracy theories are nothing new in a region with little tradition of transparent government and where the arrival of international troops in 2001 was preceded by a long history of shadowy meddling by Western powers.
Still, the emergence of the rumor in what is easily Afghanistan’s most prosperous and best-educated city reflects a growing sense that the country is again sliding into chaos.
A public opinion survey released this month underscored plummeting public confidence in Afghanistan. Just 40 percent of those surveyed said they felt the country was heading in the right direction, down from 77 percent in 2005. Only 32 percent of Afghans said the U.S. was doing a good job in the country, compared to 68 percent three years ago, according to the poll.
The poll, conducted by ABC News, the BBC and ARD German TV, also showed falling support for the government of Afghan President Hamid Karzai. In 2005, 80 percent of Afghans said they supported the Karzai regime, but just 49 percent say the same thing now.
Meanwhile, a coordinated assault by Taliban gunmen and bombers that left at least 20 dead in Kabul on Wednesday again demonstrated that insurgents have been able to pierce the capital’s relative calm.
“People see that America is so strong and they wonder — why can’t it wipe out the Taliban?” said Col. Najeeb Ullah Samsour, one of Kabul’s district police chiefs, though he added that he personally gave little credence to the rumor of U.S. support for the insurgents.
“People are saying that for six or seven years we have all these international troops, but everything is getting worse … security, the economy, everything. So they think America must be supporting the Taliban.”
Security in Kabul remains ahead of most of the country, with the insurgency strongest in the south and the east.
“I think people feel they’re pretty secure in the city,” said U.S. Army Col. Chris Morgan, commander of Afghan Regional Security Integration Command—Kabul. “But nowhere in Afghanistan is completely safe, and you don’t have to go far outside Kabul to feel some tension.”
According to a study released in December by an influential British think tank, three of the four major routes leading to Kabul have been “compromised” by the Taliban, “closing a noose around the city and establishing bases close to the city from which to launch attacks inside it.”
The report, by the International Council on Security and Development, charted a dramatic rise in Kabul attacks, including kidnapping of Afghans and foreigners, bomb attacks and assassinations.
In recent interviews with Kabul residents, many blamed the lack of progress on Karzai, who is seen as increasingly weak and isolated ahead of this year’s planned presidential elections.
“I see no positive progress since the beginning of the Karzai government, even though we have support from all these other countries,” said one resident, Habib Rahman. “We see hundreds of promises every night on the TV, but we see nothing in reality.”
From a tarp-covered stall on a street corner, Mohmadi said he too saw little progress.
“There’s no jobs,” he said. “I graduated from the 12th grade, and now you see I am selling candy bars by the side of the road.”
Many blamed corruption, with some seeing the U.S. or at least western companies in league with pilfering Afghan officials.
“This government is so corrupt that if Osama bin Laden and Mullah Omar were crossing the street together right outside, no one would call the police because they know the police would just take a bribe to let them go,” Rahman said.
But there’s also another theory about bin Laden.
“A lot of people say that Osama is really from America,” said Nasrallah Wazidi, shrugging noncommittally. “They say he’s just playing a role like a movie star.”

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Police have arrested a woman they say robbed a South Bend restaurant while tearfully apologizing to the cashier. The woman, whose identity wasn’t released, was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail on a charge of theft Tuesday night.
According to a police report, the woman told the cashier at the Long John Silver’s restaurant she had a gun and needed money, then began crying and said, “If I wasn’t down and out, I wouldn’t be doing this.”
As the woman waited at the counter, a customer in the drive-through line called police. The woman was running across a nearby parking lot as police arrived and arrested her. Police said no weapon was found.
(NaturalNews) Without any fanfare, pharmaceutical companies have been raising the prices of many of their drugs by 100 percent or more, according to a study conducted by researchers from the University of Minnesota.
The researchers investigated cases in which drugs had their prices increased by 100 percent or more in a single cost adjustment, finding that drug companies had done so for 26 products in 2006. Questcor Pharmaceuticals, for example, increased the price of its drug Acthar (used to treat spasms in infants) by 1,424 percent, from $1,650 per vial to a whopping $23,000.
The practice seems to be getting more common. In 2004, only 15 drugs had their prices so drastically increased. By only the first half of 2008, however, already the prices of 17 drugs had at least doubled.
“There’s no simple explanation,” said Stephen Schondelmeyer of the University of Minnesota. “Some companies seem to figure no one is watching so they can get away with it.”
The trend has started to draw legal attention, however.
Recently, Abbot Pharmaceuticals settled a lawsuit over its 400 percent price hike for Norvir, an HIV/AIDS drug. The company agreed to pay as much as $27.5 million in compensation, but not to lower the price of the drug.
Senators Amy Klobuchar and Charles Schumer have called on the Government Accountability Office to investigate the price increases. In addition, Klobuchar has asked the Federal Trade Commission to investigate Ovation Pharmaceuticals for drastically raising the prices of four drugs in 2006. In one case, the price of the tumor drug Cosmegen increased from $16.79 per dose to $593.75 per dose, or 3,436 percent.
“This does drive up the price of health care,” said Alan Goldbloom, president of Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. “Hospitals are either eating the cost or passing it along to insurers, so you and I are paying it in increased premiums.”

Congressman Ron Paul is the most conservative, grandfatherly man to ever be admired by America’s marijuana enthusiasts. On Friday night’s episode of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, he reminded those who may have been suffering an impaired short-term memory at that late hour why, exactly, they should like him.
Speaking live from Clute, Texas, the libertarian-leaning Republican did what few other members of Congress will and openly called for the United States’ War on Drugs to be abolished.
“What about when FDR came to office in ’33,” asked Maher. “One of the first things he did was repeal prohibition. He said we can’t afford this anymore. Well, we have prohibition in this country. … When he was making radical changes he said look, we’re serious now. We’re going to make serious changes and people like liquor.”
“Well, in this country, people like pot,” said Maher to a wave of cheers and applause. “If we ended that prohibition, that would be a giant pooling of money.”
“I don’t like pot,” said the congressman. “But I hate the drug war, so I would repeal all of prohibition. But, I wouldn’t even bother taxing it. People have the right in a free country to make important decisions on their own lives. If they want to make mistakes, they can. They just can’t come crawling to the government to get bailed out or taken care of if they get sick.
“I believe in freedom of choice in all that we do, as long as the individual never hurts anybody else. So that means I would get rid of all the federal laws. I would dispose with the drug war. We’re spending tens, if not hundreds of billions of dollars on this, then we march into places like California, override state laws, arrest sick people and put them in prison.”
“It makes no sense whatsoever,” he insisted.
“Amen, stoner,” joked Maher.

Renowned US intellectual Noam Chomsky says Barack Obama did not comment on Israel’s war on Gaza, as it was part of the “premeditated” plan.
We have been informed by an Israeli source that the recent invasion of the Gaza Strip was completely premeditated, Chomsky said in an interview with the French Al-Ahram daily.
The plan was to deliver the maximum blow to Gaza before the new US president took office, so that he could put these matters behind him added the famous intellectual, referring to Obama’s pledge to resolve the Israeli Palestinian conflict.
According to Chomsky, while Israel was pounding the Gaza Strip — during which over 1300 Palestinians were killed –, Obama excused his silence by saying that “There’s only one president at a time.”
This, however, did not prevent the then president-elect from commenting on other leading issues of US domestic and foreign policy, Chomsky argued.
The recognized political analyst also criticized Obama for repeating the notion that defending Israel is a US priority. He predicted that during the Obama presidency US will hold the same policy on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Human rights groups shocked by refusal to reverse Bush policy in Afghanistan
Sunday, 22 February 2009
Less than a month after signing an executive order to close the Guantanamo Bay prison camp, President Barack Obama has quietly agreed to keep denying the right to trial to hundreds more terror suspects held at a makeshift camp in Afghanistan that human rights lawyers have dubbed “Obama’s Guantanamo”.
In a single-sentence answer filed with a Washington court, the administration dashed hopes that it would immediately rip up Bush-era policies that have kept more than 600 prisoners in legal limbo and in rudimentary conditions at the Bagram air base, north of Kabul.
Now, human rights groups say they are becoming increasingly concerned that the use of extra-judicial methods in Afghanistan could be extended rather than curtailed under the new US administration. The air base is about to undergo a $60m (£42m) expansion that will double its size, meaning it can house five times as many prisoners as remain at Guantanamo.

According to Drew Zahn, writing for WorldNetDaily, the Iowa National Guard has “scaled back” its “training exercise” planned for April in Arcadia, Iowa, population 443.
Military spokesman Lt. Col. Greg Hapgood, told Zahn and WND that the operation has now been “scaled back” and no longer involves an “invasion” of Arcadia. “And while Hapgood confirmed the Guard had been inundated with objections from citizens concerned about soldiers patrolling the streets of an American town, he said most came from people out of state and unfamiliar with the operation. Iowans, he explained, typically cooperate with the Guard. The change in plans was based on troop evaluation, he said, not public outcry.”
On Friday, Alex Jones dedicated a large portion of his radio show to talking about the National Guard invasion of the small Iowa town. An undetermined number of listeners responded by contacting officials, including the National Guard, demanding the “exercise” be called off. Callers to the show indicated they would go to Arcadia in April and protest against the four-day urban military operation, described by the National Guard as a mock scenario designed to give soldiers the skills needed for deployment in an urban environment. Part of the invasion included searching houses. Alex Jones also announced he planned to travel to Arcadia and protest the operation.
“Higher headquarters leadership,” Hapgood told WND, “given the unit’s status of training proficiency, made a decision to scale back the exercise.”
It is fair to say Alex Jones and his audience are responsible in large part for the “scaled back” plans. In predictable fashion, the corporate media ignored the story and instead concentrated on frivolous topics such as octoplet mother Nadya Suleman and a supposed racist cartoon published in the New York Post.
(Ya Alex is animated and some people call him crazy but If you look at his track record of exposing the truths of our criminal hijacked government than you can see why he’s showing so much emotion. You should try it sometime people. Getting mad, etc).

If this is not a nightmarish scenario to you than you are in some weird, brainwashed, stupid, ignorant, authority groveling, TV worshiping, state of (Prozac popping) denial. I have no idea what kind of world these people live in. Many people woke up to the Bush administration but then almost all of you fell for the Obama administration. The Obama team is starting off much worse then even the Bush team did. They are scaring the hell out of well educated & informed people everywhere. Good luck with thinking Obama is some nice liberal here to help us. He is as much a puppet as George Bush. He scares me worse than Bush because he has so many people behind him. He is as much a elitist as George Bush. He will stab his supporters in the back as many times as George Bush did.
People your really have to wake up to reality. Do you understand the implications of a government confiscating it peoples personal weapons of self-defense. READ SOME FUCKIN HISTORY BOOKS.

The Carroll National Guard unit will train on urban military operations by holding a four-day exercise at Arcadia.
The purpose of the April 2-5 drill will be to gather intelligence, then search for and apprehend a suspected weapons dealer, according to Sgt. Mike Kots, readiness NCO for Alpha Company.
Citizens, law enforcement, media and other supporters will participate.
Troops will spend Thursday, April 2, staging at a forward operations base at Carroll. The next day company leaders will conduct reconnaissance and begin patrolling the streets of Arcadia to identify possible locations of the weapons dealer.
The primary phase will be done Saturday, April 4, when convoys will be deployed from Carroll to Arcadia. Pictures of the arms dealer will be shown in Arcadia, and soldiers will go door to door asking if residents have seen the suspect.

“We are grateful to the Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries.” –David Rockefeller… Baden-Baden, Germany 1991

Brzezinski is partners with David Rockefeller.
Together they created the TriLateral Commission in 1973. (Intellectual representative of 300 of the wealthiest people in the world).
He’s an author. He’s a strong influence on US policies, foreign and domestic.
He’s like a bookend to Henry Kissinger, who is also a Tri-Lateralist.
Brzezinski basically created Al-Qaeda.
Brzezinski is Obama’s “right-hand man.” (He’s his fucking “Dick Cheney” if you need it spelt out for you in “Bush” language, seeing as democrats hold this uncorrupt Godly notion about their party. There is no difference. It’s a charade).
“The Trilateral Commission is intended to be the vehicle for multinational consolidation of the commercial and banking interests by seizing control of the political government of the United States. The Trilateral Commission represents a skillful, coordinated effort to seize control and consolidate the four centers of power political, monetary, intellectual and ecclesiastical. What the Trilateral Commission intends is to create a worldwide economic power superior to the political governments of the nationstates involved. As managers and creators of the system, they will rule the future.” – U.S. Senator Barry Goldwater in his l979 book: With No Apologies.

Obama… Keepin’ It Real
Surprisingly, many of its own members admit the CFR goal is to subvert the democratic process. CFR member and Judge Advocate General of the US Navy Admiral Chester Ward writes,
“The main purpose of the (CFR) is:

This high ranking military officer went on to explain their
procedures for influencing policy, claiming: “Once the ruling
members of the CFR shadow government have decided that the US
government should adopt a particular policy, the very substantial
research facilities of the CFR are put to work to develop arguments,
intellectual and emotional, to support the new policy and to confound
and discredit, intellectually and politically, any opposition…
The FRANKLIN SCANDAL is the story of a nationwide pedophile ring that pandered children to a cabal of the rich and powerful. The ring’s pimps were a pair of Republican powerbrokers who used Boys Town as a pedophiliac reservoir, had access to the highest levels of our government, and connections to the CIA.
Nebraska legislators nearly exposed the ring in 1990, but its unveiling had the potential to produce seismic political aftershocks: a rash of deaths and a full court press by federal and local law enforcement effected an immaculate cover-up.
The power elite sating their appetite for forbidden fruit via pedophilia and pedophiliac sadism is an evil that dates back millennia: Roman emperor Tiberius reportedly indulged in pedophilia and then murdered the children. Moreover, pedophile rings linked to the powerful have recently been exposed in Belgium, Portugal, Chile, and Mexico.

Making an appearance on the Morning Joe television show, the Rockefeller globalist Zbigniew Brzezinski said it is high time the rich who have made billions since the days of the Clinton administration help out the poor and struggling masses. Said Brzezinski:
Where is the monied class today? Why aren’t they doing something: the people who made billions, millions. I’m sort of thinking of Paulson, of Rubin. Why don’t they get together, and why don’t they organize a National Solidarity Fund in which they call on all of those who made these extraordinary amounts of money to kick some back in to [a] National Solidarity Fund?
Brzezinski almost looked grandfatherly as he said this (see video). He almost came off as a good-natured humanitarian… almost. It all sounded good, if implausible — that is until Brzezinski reached the end of his carefully crafted diatribe:
And if we don’t get some sort of voluntary National Solidarity Fund, at some point there’ll be such political pressure that Congress will start getting in the act, there’s going to be growing conflict between the classes and if people are unemployed and really hurting, hell, there could be even riots.
In other words, Brzezinski is afraid that if some filthy lucre is not dispensed among the unwashed, they will rise up and burn down the banks, sack the corporations, and destroy the globalist edifice so painfully erected over the last fifty or so years — and maybe even go so far as to string up Brzezinski and his fellow globalists from trees and overpasses, the sort of dirty and regrettable business that invariably occurs in the process of violent revolutions in response to decades of provocation.
It’s not the pain suffered by the unemployed and homeless that concerns Brzezinski and the one-world patricians. It is the prospect of class warfare. It is the horrific prospect of losing it all.
Brzezinski realizes the engineered financial crisis will have dire consequences and he wants to set aside a few crumbs to mollify the growing numbers of impoverished before they take to the streets. It is odd, however, that he mentioned fellow Trilateralist Robert Rubin as one of the people who should be donating to this proposed National Solidarity Fund. No doubt the former Goldman Sachs and Citigroup stooge Rubin had a good laugh over Brzezinski’s preposterous proposal.
If realized, it will be a National Solidarity Fund to save the bankers, not the people. Brzezinski and the global elite understand the last time they pulled this swindle — causing the so-called Great Depression — mass unemployment and bread lines transformed into widespread and popular political activism that seriously threatened the establishment. In response, the “New Deal” was cooked up to dissipate growing rebellion. It took a major world war and subsequently the creation of the military-industrial complex, the national security state, and highly orchestrated cold war to inflate a newly contrived “boom” bubble to get out of the banker engineered Great Depression.
Brzezinski’s National Solidarity Fund is another bankster scam devised to sideline the possibility of rebellion before it gets going. Needless to say, this shabby hustle is wholly insufficient and it will take more than a few billion dollars worth of crumbs from the likes of Hank Paulson and Robert Rubin to prevent the rebellion, class warfare, and violence of the coming storm.

Dear Friend of Liberty,
Yesterday, Barack Obama signed the $787 BILLION “stimulus” bill into law. This marks his first major legislative action, but just one of many already broken campaign promises.
He promised transparency and accountability in the legislative process, but the details of the bill were negotiated in closed-door sessions. Then, only a very limited number of physical copies were made available.
In addition, lawmakers had less than 24 hours to review the over 1,000 page bill before the vote was taken, hardly enough time to read a bill with such critical implications for our economy.
So far, one thing is clear from these early weeks of the Obama administration:
Barack Obama has brought no real change to Washington.
He is continuing the reckless spending and out of control debt of the last administration. He is playing the usual Washington games of partisan bickering and exempting those who work for him from standards required of every other American. His “stimulus” is packed with lobbyist payoffs and special-interest pork.
Barack Obama is right about one thing – we ARE facing a serious economic crisis. But he is wrong that “only government can break the vicious cycle.”
Big Government economic policies are the cause of the cycle, not the solution!
Reckless spending and socialist meddling will only prolong the economic turmoil our government has created. We cannot allow the new administration continue down this same destructive path.
Only fiscal restraint, free markets, and individual liberty can return us to stability and prosperity.

— Billions of dollars for anti-gun ACORN and computer database
Wednesday, February 18, 2009
It was a day that will live in infamy.
President Obama traveled to Denver, Colorado yesterday to sign the
multi-billion dollar, pork-laden, so-called “stimulus” bill
But forget the $787 billion price tag you heard on TV. Forget the $12
TRILLION debt limit which the bill created.
By the time debt services and other frills of the “socialism
accounted for, the cost will be over $3,000,000,000,000 (yes, three
This makes the bill the biggest government spending grab in human
But what about the details? The hundreds and hundreds of pages in the
bill were not made available until less than 18 hours before the final
passage vote. But here’s what we know in relation to the gun-related
* The final bill continues to spend between $12 and $20 BILLION on
requiring your doctor to retroactively put your most confidential
medical records into a government database. Based on our experience
with veterans, we would expect the government to try to use computerized
psychiatric records to impose gun bans on people who have sought (or
will seek) treatment.
* The final bill continues to fund liberal community action groups like
ACORN, which has been convicted in previous elections for voter fraud
and is now under investigation in several states for having engaged in
massive criminal election fraud on behalf of Barack Obama’s presidential
candidacy. Not only that, they have also been involved in anti-Second
Amendment activism in New Jersey.
White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel was at least honest when he said
it would be a shame to let a crisis like the current recession “go to
waste.” Like vultures picking on the nation’s carcass, the White House
has used the nation’s pain to lavish largesse on its political
supporters, at the expense of the nation’s economic survival.
And, in the end, this act of ethical depravity was made possible by
every Democrat Senator who voted for the bill, plus the defections of
three Republicans: Arlen Specter (R-PA), Olympia Snowe (R-ME), and
Susan Collins (R-ME).
If there is one silver lining to all of this, it’s the debunking of a
rumor that recently swept across the internet. The rumor claimed that
the provisions of HR 45 — the massive gun registration bill introduced
by Chicago congressman Bobby Rush (D) — were “rolled into”
But having searched the contents of the new law, GOA staff has
determined the rumor appears to be false.
“This is some bad shit right here. How much more infringement do we all want to take? This is the same way the Bush Administration suckered the people into believing there was a real terrorist threat, (9/11), and passed the Patriot Act. The fact is that your more likely to be stuck by lightning in America than be “attacked by a terrorist.”
The next fact is that the majority of Americans are showing their true colors and bowing down time and time again. What is going on out there? Have you all completely lost your self-esteem? Did you forget the awesome power of we the people when were all standing together in large numbers? There is no force an Earth that could stop a movement of compassionate American Men & Women fighting for what we all know is the right thing to do. Stop being babies and realize your individual rights as a human being and the power that dwells within all of you.” (I’m petting your heads as I say that)

Editor’s note: According to Markoff, the internet is so flawed and clogged with viruses, the only solution is to scrap it and start over. He suggests a “gated community” where users give up their anonymity and freedom in return for safety. Sounds like the same version of the internet our rulers have in mind.
The New York Times
February 16, 2009
Two decades ago a 23-year-old Cornell University graduate student brought the Internet to its knees with a simple software program that skipped from computer to computer at blinding speed, thoroughly clogging the then-tiny network in the space of a few hours. The program was intended to be a digital “Kilroy Was Here.” Just a bit of cybernetic fungus that would unobtrusively wander the net. However, a programming error turned it into a harbinger heralding the arrival of a darker cyberspace, more of a mirror for all of the chaos and conflict of the physical world than a utopian refuge from it.
Since then things have gotten much, much worse.
Bad enough that there is a growing belief among engineers and security experts that Internet security and privacy have become so maddeningly elusive that the only way to fix the problem is to start over.
What a new Internet might look like is still widely debated, but one alternative would, in effect, create a “gated community” where users would give up their anonymity and certain freedoms in return for safety. Today that is already the case for many corporate and government Internet users. As a new and more secure network becomes widely adopted, the current Internet might end up as the bad neighborhood of cyberspace. You would enter at your own risk and keep an eye over your shoulder while you were there.
“Unless we’re willing to rethink today’s Internet,” says Nick McKeown, a Stanford engineer involved in building a new Internet, “we’re just waiting for a series of public catastrophes.”
That was driven home late last year, when a malicious software program thought to have been unleashed by a criminal gang in Eastern Europe suddenly appeared after easily sidestepping the world’s best cyberdefenses. Known as Conficker, it quickly infected more than 12 million computers, ravaging everything from the computer system at a surgical ward in England to the computer networks of the French military.
Conficker remains a ticking time bomb. It now has the power to lash together those infected computers into a vast supercomputer called a botnet that can be controlled clandestinely by its creators. What comes next remains a puzzle. Conficker could be used as the world’s most powerful spam engine, perhaps to distribute software programs to trick computer users into purchasing fake antivirus protection. Or much worse. It might also be used to shut off entire sections of the Internet. But whatever happens, Conficker has demonstrated that the Internet remains highly vulnerable to a concerted attack.
“If you’re looking for a digital Pearl Harbor, we now have the Japanese ships streaming toward us on the horizon,” Rick Wesson, the chief executive of Support Intelligence, a computer consulting firm, said recently.
The Internet’s original designers never foresaw that the academic and military research network they created would one day bear the burden of carrying all the world’s communications and commerce. There was no one central control point and its designers wanted to make it possible for every network to exchange data with every other network. Little attention was given to security. Since then, there have been immense efforts to bolt on security, to little effect.
“In many respects we are probably worse off than we were 20 years ago,” said Eugene Spafford, the executive director of the Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security at Purdue University and a pioneering Internet security researcher, “because all of the money has been devoted to patching the current problem rather than investing in the redesign of our infrastructure.”
In fact, many computer security researchers view the nearly two decades of efforts to patch the existing network as a Maginot Line approach to defense, a reference to France’s series of fortifications that proved ineffective during World War II. The shortcoming in focusing on such sturdy digital walls is that once they are evaded, the attacker has access to all the protected data behind them. “Hard on the outside, with a soft chewy center,” is the way many veteran computer security researchers think of such strategies.
Despite a thriving global computer security industry that is projected to reach $79 billion in revenues next year, and the fact that in 2002 Microsoft itself began an intense corporatewide effort to improve the security of its software, Internet security has continued to deteriorate globally.

Illinois — the land of Obama and the Blagojevich mafia — is serious about making the Second Amendment so expensive only the rich will be able to exercise it. Kenneth Dunkin, a former social worker and Democrat member of the Illinois House of Representatives, has introduced HB0687, entitled the “Firearm Owners ID-Insurance” bill. It is currently in the Rules Committee.
Dunkin’s bill amends the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act, a previous bill aimed at chipping away at the Second Amendment. Dunkin’s amendment states “that any person who owns a firearm in this State shall maintain a policy of liability insurance in the amount of at least $1,000,000 specifically covering any damages resulting from negligent or willful acts involving the use of such firearm while it is owned by such person.”
A million dollars!
Can you imagine the premium on such an insurance policy? It would be astronomical and out of the reach of most people in Illinois.
If the firearm owner cannot afford the insurance or decides that it is simply crazy and also unconstitutional and refuses to participate, “the Department of State Police shall revoke and seize a Firearm Owner’s Identification Card,” thus making the the firearm illegal and the owner a criminal.
If Dunkin’s bill makes it out of committee and is passed by the Illinois General Assembly, a whole lot of people will have their firearms confiscated by the State Police.

Dear Friend of Liberty,
I hope you share my firm conviction that our fight is just beginning!
You’ve stood alongside me in our battles for Liberty and the Constitution before. Now, an even bigger threat – and an even bigger opportunity – is upon us.
Please read the enclosed letter from Campaign for Liberty’s President, John Tate. John isn’t just a friend of mine. He’s also someone who worked side by side with me in the Revolution as my National Political Director. Now he’s agreed to take up the fight in a way I cannot – by leading the Revolution on the outside, while I return to Congress.
Congressman Ron Paul
FROM THE DESK OF:
John F. Tate, President
Campaign For Liberty
Please take a moment to fill out the Campaign for Liberty Membership Ballot.
It’s important you do so at once.
Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Ben Bernanke are all hoping you don’t. They’re counting on you and me to sit on the sidelines and lick our wounds from last year.
Well, I for one intend to fight.
And since you are a supporter of Ron Paul and his Campaign for Liberty, I’m confident you’re ready for the brutal battles ahead as the forces of tyranny stand ready to take away more and more of our freedoms – if you and I don’t act today.
Make no mistake, the fight begins NOW.
If you and I don’t act today, the first 100 days of the Obama Administration could well be an even bigger disaster for freedom-loving proponents of constitutional government than were the last 8 years.
Already we have seen the type of assaults on limited government Barack Obama has in mind. He wasted no time in pushing forward the one TRILLION DOLLAR boondoggle he cunningly packaged as a “Stimulus Plan.”
And if the new Administration and their allies get their way, this will be just the tip of the iceberg.
And that’s not all. You and I are up against:
*** More government bailouts – for the auto industry, for more banks and financial institutions – and who knows how many others. What we can be certain of is more and more of our tax dollars are being flushed away each and every day.
*** Continued FED secrecy and practices that devalue our currency and create bubbles, malinvestment, and the volatile business cycle.
*** Expansion of federal powers under the Homeland Security Department and Patriot Act to position government to suspend your freedom at will.
*** Huge new federal bureaucracies staffed with freedom-taking enemies, intent on doing Big Government’s bidding.
*** A new Obama plan for mandatory federal service, forcing America’s young people into his “Army” of government workers.
And that’s just the beginning.
With so much at stake in the coming months, and so much to fight back against, it’s critical I have two things from you today.
First, your advice.
It is important that you share your thoughts and input with us on our Membership Ballot by following this link:
Secondly, it’s vital that the Revolution have your continued financial support as well.
You see, you and I are going to face some tough decisions in the near future. I may well have to decide which bills to fight and which we can’t afford to do battle over!
That’s why it’s vital your advice – and your support – come to Campaign for Liberty right away.
You and I have some work to do. And we must start today. This hour. This minute.
You know you can count on Ron Paul and Campaign for Liberty to fight when no one else will.
That is why Campaign for Liberty was established: to fight for common-sense principles such as freedom and limited government, and to reinsert these ideals into the American political conversation when others falter.
Campaign for Liberty, born out of Ron Paul’s decades-long crusade for Freedom everywhere, is the only vehicle committed to fighting the tyranny of BOTH parties in Washington, DC.
There’s no doubt that you and I are in a battle right now for the survival of our nation and its constitutional form of government. There’s so much at stake this year – and so much out there to fight. It can all seem very overwhelming at times.
But if you and I don’t lead the fight, who will?
Who will stand for our Constitution?
Who will lead the charge to take back our freedom?
Who will stand up to Barack Obama’s big government philosophy?
Ron Paul’s Campaign for Liberty is the ONLY nationwide organization, beholden to NEITHER party, that can do just that.
In fact, we are already mobilizing the grassroots supporters of Liberty for this battle.
But we have much work to do.
If Campaign for Liberty can raise the necessary funds, we will fight on each and every one of these vital issues this year:
– Fighting to preserve our freedom and Constitution.
– Opposing more government bailouts and stimulus packages.
– Fighting to stop Congress’ automatic pay raise scheduled for 2010.
– Passing legislation forcing a full audit of the Federal Reserve as we work toward eliminating that institution and restoring our money to being backed by more than just the assurances of bureaucrats.
– Strongly defending the Second Amendment from the many attacks to come.
– Protecting workers’ rights from the coercive power of Big Labor, Big Government, and Big Business.
– Working to end a foreign policy that has our troops stretched beyond the breaking point, leaving America more vulnerable.
– Promoting legislation to restore national sovereignty by cutting our ties with, and ultimately getting the U.S. out of, the U.N.
– And so much more ….
There are many crucial decisions to be made in the days and weeks ahead. Our goal is to fight each and every one of these battles, and I hope you’ll help me do just that.
You see, as an organization that stands on principle, we cannot demand fiscal responsibility while behaving recklessly ourselves. So unlike the Federal Government, we are unwilling to go into debt to finance our operations. It is only with your loyal support that Campaign for Liberty can hope to fight and win these many battles before us.
If you can help us financially in any way, please do. Every donation, even $25 or $50, will make a difference. And if you can afford a larger donation — $250, $500, or even more — it will go a very long way toward restoring freedom.
But first it is vital I have your advice on where and when to fight. That’s why I’m asking you to fill out our Membership Ballot along with your donation.
Our country is ailing. That is the bad news. The good news is that the remedy is simple: return to the principles of our Founders.
Respect for the Constitution, the rule of law, individual liberty, sound money, and a noninterventionist foreign policy constitute the foundation of Campaign for Liberty.
Join the fight today by filling out a Membership Ballot and continuing your support of Campaign for Liberty.
We are reliant on the generosity of our fellow patriots to succeed in this important struggle. After helping by sharing yourinput, please help us further by making a generous contribution of $250, $100, $50, or whatever you can afford.
Our Founders prevailed in their Revolution due to their unshakable resolve and unerring faith in the principles now championed by Campaign for Liberty.
With your help, we too can beat back the forces of Big Government, reclaim our Republic, and restore respect for our Constitution.
John F. Tate
PS: With more government bailouts, trillion dollar “stimulus” packages, and nearly daily threats to our liberty on the agenda this year, it’s vital your Campaign for Liberty fight back today – before we see the total destruction of the U.S. dollar.
Please share your thoughts on how best to win these battles by clicking here. Campaign for Liberty relies on the input and financial support of freedom-loving Americans for our continued success.
If you can afford it, please join our fight for freedom and donate $250, $100, or $50 today!

Glenn Beck interviews New Hampshire representative Dan Itse on the issue of state sovereignty and New Hampshire’s new bill stating sovereignty from the federal government under the U.S. Constitution. This movement has sparked other states to work toward declaring sovereignty from the federal government.
These issues are non-negotiable says Rep. Dan Itse:
- Declaring martial law without the consent of the state government.
- Further encroachments on the Right to Bear Arms.
- Involuntary servitude of 18 to 24 year olds.
“This isn’t about withdrawing from the union. The happiest resolution of this resolution would be a renewed union within the confines of The Constitution.” Rep. Itse continues, “But if the general government nullifies The Constitution. How to you withdraw from something that doesn’t exist?”

“Fuckin cowards. Sending in unmanned robots to do their slaughtering. If your gonna kill some innocent civilians at least have the “tiny insignificant bean sacks” to fly over them hundreds of feet in the sky. By the way, this is the second Pakistani slaughter ordered by Obama. I’m sure you all saw this on the six O’clock news, wink, wink. I don’t know how much more it has to be spoon fed to people that Obama is a fraud puppet and most of your high ranking government officials are puppets. Go buy some fuckin guns, or something, (while it’s still legal to), and I don’t know turn off your TV and read some books and vote 3rd party. (Man, aren’t you exhausted).
This “Pakistan business” sounds similar to what this guy predicted before Obama was elected president. You mean there is already a agenda in place for an incoming puppet President…..buuuuurrpp.”

The Pentagon, meanwhile, seemed caught off-guard by the whole thing. “The first I have heard of it. I know nothing of it. I — I’d, frankly, follow it up with her. I know nothing of it,” Defense Department spokesman Geoff Morrell said.
But Pakistan’s press isn’t buying it. “Official sources have lost all credibility. After all, we have been officially briefed on more than one occasion that no drone flew without the knowledge of the Pakistani military,” says The News. “The brazenness with which the government has chosen to lie not only to its people but to Parliament shows how little it cares for either.”
Islamabad “has remained stuck to its policy of denial for too long and this will, precisely for that reason, hurt more than anyone might have thought in Washington,” the Daily Times says. “But the bow is already bent and drawn. The government will have to show some slick footwork to get out of this mess.”
On Tuesday, counterinsurgency guru Dr. David Kilcullen told Danger Room that “if we want to strengthen our friends and weaken our enemies in Pakistan, bombing Pakistani villages with unmanned drones is totally counterproductive.” That was two days before Feinstein’s disclosure.

Dear Friend of Liberty,
Please take a moment to read the following report from C4L Interim State Coordinator Kirk Shelley regarding recent action in the Oklahoma legislature to uphold the state’s sovereignty under the Constitution’s Tenth Amendment.
Similar action is being taken all over the country, as resistance to the federal government’s continual intrusion into our lives grows. I urge all our Oklahoma members to immediately contact their state representatives in support of final passage for House Joint Resolution 1003. More details are included in this report.
If you are in a state where such a resolution has not been introduced, contact your state legislators today and tell them to stand up for your state’s sovereignty.
President, Campaign for Liberty
Paul Supporters Lead Fight to Restore State Sovereignty in Oklahoma
“State House to consider historic bill to take back state’s rights under the 10th Amendment to the Constitution”
Oklahoma City – For far too long, the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution has been known as the forgotten amendment. With power grab after power grab, Congress has slowly eroded the rights of states to keep powers not specifically granted to the federal government.
As more and more citizens and state legislators across the country begin to realize that this loss of states rights is at the core of many of our nation’s problems, those legislators have set out to stop the out of control Congress and restore some sense of sanity and constitutional protections to the individual states.
On February 11th, Oklahoma became the first state to act on legislation to do just that. This action was directly brought about by a Ron Paul supporter, and it is Campaign for Liberty members that will see this battle all the way through.
You see, the 10th Amendment in our nation’s Bill of Rights has long been despised by our big government foes. That amendment was drafted to enshrine in the Constitution what the Founders and the original states already knew: any power not expressly given to the federal government is kept by the states and the people. Although a lot of freedom-minded individuals have long fought for full compliance with this amendment in modern times, there has been a void of leadership and a lack of focused action – until now.
That void has been filled by the formation of Campaign for Liberty, which was born from Ron Paul’s galvanizing 2008 Presidential campaign.
Campaign for Liberty is fighting in state legislatures across the country and in Congress to preserve and restore constitutional rights to all citizens, to subdue an out of control federal government, and to win back our lost freedom.
The fight in Oklahoma is a great example of the kind of battles we face in the next stages of the Ron Paul Revolution.
With the support of Dr. Paul’s activists throughout the state, the Oklahoma legislature has taken up a vital bill to put Congress in its place and to remind it that there are limits to federal power.
This past Wednesday, the Oklahoma House Rules Committee unanimously supported House Joint Resolution 1003 (http://webserver1.lsb.state.ok.us/2009-10HB/HJR1003_int.rtf), which expresses the sovereignty of the State of Oklahoma and clearly calls for an end to unconstitutional federal government mandates.
Representative Charles Key (R-Oklahoma City), the sponsor of this bill, has spearheaded a national movement to put the federal government on notice that the separate states are sick and tired of having their actions dictated by Washington, D.C.
Rep. Charles Key is a supporter of Dr. Paul – in fact, he was the first elected official in Oklahoma to endorse Ron Paul’s candidacy for President (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aa5sCO-3ly0) because of Dr. Paul’s strong support for the US Constitution.
Oklahoma IS an example of how the R3volution is leading the battle to restore constitutional rights and freedoms to our citizens. The fight to reclaim our Republic and restore our Constitution is just beginning, and, with the continued efforts of Campaign for Liberty members all across the country, it is a fight that we can and will win.

“This is obviously bad news. But what some of you really need to know is that it is “orchestrated” bad news. The great depression of the thirties was engineered. When they don’t teach real history in school it is possible to pull this shit on people again because they don’t know their countries own history. You need to know were to direct your anger. Aim it directly at the U.S. government and especially at the private bankers and corporate giants who control them. Much of your anger should be directed at the Federal Reserve. Obama is not here to save you and your family nor is almost all the other puppet politicians on the D.C. chopping block. This is not conspiracy news… it’s time we all grow up & stand-up for ourselves, our families, and our country. Resistance is the key to a better life people. Make your voice heard and Vote 3rd party!”
HR 45 May be More Troubling Than the Average Anti-gun Bill
— Legislation may reflect Obama’s thinking
by Mike Hammond
Those of you who regularly peruse the GOA website know that there are dozens of anti-gun abominations which are introduced as legislation in the Senate and House each Congress. These include, particularly, national gun licensing and broad gun bans.
GOA provides a summary of these bills for the benefit of our members and friends. But we do not focus on most of these bills because they are so extreme that they have no chance of passage. They are cynically introduced so that the Brady Campaign can raise money by threatening anti-gun measures it could never pass.
But the first anti-gun bill of the 111th Congress -– Chicago Congressman Bobby Rush’s H.R. 45 –- has caught the attention of many in the Second Amendment community as something we need to be worried about.
This is because of the extremity of the bill:
* H.R. 45 would require a federal license for all handguns and semiautomatics, including those you currently possess; and
* It would require handgun and semi-auto owners to be thumbprinted at the police station and to sign a certificate that, effectively, the firearm will not be kept in a place where it would be available for the defense of the gun owner’s family.
Pretty scary, huh? But, while this despotic nuttiness makes you wonder why a congressman from the Murder Capital of the Midwest would think that it would help to make the residents of New Hampshire, Alaska, and Wyoming comply with his blood-soaked city’s anti-gun laws, there have been other bills which are just as unconstitutional.
Rather, what makes H.R. 45 troubling is its sponsor and its timing.
Its sponsor is Congressman Bobby Rush –- a scion of the same super-corrupt Chicago political machine that produced disgraced Governor Rod Blagojevich and President Barack Obama.
And as for its timing, it was introduced during the confirmation of Attorney General nominee Eric Holder — the man who tried exploit the Columbine tragedy in order to pass gun licensing as Deputy Attorney General in the Clinton administration.
And make no mistake about it: Licensing is only a way-station to discouraging, arresting, or humiliating gun owners and outlawing guns. Under H.R. 45, for example, the applicant must also make available ALL of his psychiatric records, pass an exam, and pay a fee.
So… are you a veteran who has ever consulted a psychologist or psychiatrist? Guess what? The FBI would soon be examining every confidential statement you have ever made during those consultations.
Private sales of handguns and semi-autos would be outlawed, and reports to the attorney general of all transactions would be required, even when — as the bill allows — the AG determines that a state licensing system is sufficiently draconian to substitute for the federal license.
But, you may be thinking, “I’m just a hunter with a deer rifle… surely, none of this is relevant to me”?
Then you should know that, with virtually no exceptions, ALL firearms transactions (including person-to-person private sales of long guns, hunting rifles, shotguns, etc.) would be subject to the same paperwork hassles that are required when buying from a dealer.
In addition, the bill would make it unlawful in virtually all cases to keep any loaded firearm for self-defense. A variety of “crimes by omission” (such as failure to report certain things to the government) would be created.
Criminal penalties of up to ten years and virtually unlimited regulatory and inspection authority would be established.
Combined with the Ammunition Accountability effort to outlaw ammunition in numerous states, this two-pronged attack would soon make gun ownership a thing of the past.
Barack Obama was fond of saying during the campaign that he supported the Second Amendment. And we read of gun buyers who are flocking -– while it is still legal -– to purchase firearms, but who concede that they believed Obama’s assurances and voted for him.
But we may soon see a more horrific, nastier side of Barack Obama… and a capacity to go after his political enemies. And we have to assume that he will view gun owners as just about the most important of those enemies.
“HR 1 is about more than just pork. Millions of gun owners stand to lose their gun rights without any due process.” Larry Pratt, GOA Executive Director

The Obama administration is putting a lot of pressure on Congress to slam through the most recent $800+ billion bailout package before anyone has an opportunity to read it.
The Obama administration intones that the details are unimportant. The only thing that matters is the “bigness.” And, by shipping a bill of nearly $900 billion (plus interest) to our children and grandchildren, the package is really, really big –- bigger, in fact, than the budget of our entire government for the first 170 years of our country’s existence.
But now that some of the details are finally starting to leak out of Washington, Gun Owners -– and a lot of other analysts -– are beginning to look at the fine print. And some of it is particularly scary.
Of particular concern to gun owners are sections 13101 through 13434 of HR 1, which would set up the infrastructure to computerize the medical records of ALL AMERICANS in a government-coordinated database.
True, the bill doesn’t mandate that the data will be in a giant computer under the Oval Office. But it does mandate that your medical records be reduced to a computerized form which is available to it in a second.
This it would do by establishing a National Coordinator for Health Information Technology –- tasked with, among other things, “providing information to help guide medical decisions at the time and place of care.”
It should be scary enough that a government bureaucrat is directed by statute to try to influence your doctor’s decisions with respect to your medical care.
But of even greater concern to gun owners is the fact that a government-coordinated database (which government can freely access) will now contain all records of government-provided and private psychiatric treatment -– including, in particular, the drugs which were prescribed.
Remember last year’s “NICS Improvement Act” otherwise known as the Veterans Disarmament Act? This law codified ATF’s attempts to make you a prohibited person on the basis of a government psychiatrist’s finding that you are a “danger” –- without a finding by any court. Well, roughly 150,000 battle-scarred veterans have already been unfairly stripped of their gun rights by the government.
But people who, as kids, were diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder… or seniors with Alzheimer’s… or police with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder… or people who are now theoretically covered by the new law… these people have, generally, not suffered the consequences of its sanctions YET. And the chief reason is that their records are not easily available to the government in a central, easily retrievable, computerized form.
The bailout bill would change all of that. It would push increasingly hard to force your private psychiatrist or government-sanctioned psychiatrist to turn over your psychiatric records to a massive database. This would be mandated immediately if your doctor does business with the government.
This would supposedly save Medicare money in connection with medical treatment. And, the sponsors insist, they would work very hard to protect your privacy.
But this turns the concept of “privacy” on its head. The privacy which is MOST important is privacy from the prying eyes of government –- not privacy of government data against the prying eyes of others. After all, many government data bases have been hacked in recent years, with mountains of information stolen.
So, once the government has access to these computerized psychiatric records, the stage will be set for using that database to take away the gun rights of those with Alzheimer’s, those with ADD, and those with PTSD.
ACTION: Write your two senators. Urge them to vote against the bailout bill (HR 1) until it is stripped of provisions which would turn your psychiatric records over to a central government-coordinated database against your will without you getting your day in court.
You can use the Gun Owners Legislative Action Center to send your Senators the pre-written e-mail message below.
– Prewritten Letter –
I am particularly concerned about sections 13101 through 13434 of the new bailout bill (HR 1). These sections would set up the infrastructure to computerize the medical records of ALL AMERICANS in a government-coordinated database, including psychiatric records.
It is scary enough that a government bureaucrat is directed by statute to try to influence my doctor’s decisions with respect to my medical care.
But of even greater concern to gun owners is the fact that a government-coordinated database will now contain all records of government-provided and private psychiatric treatment.
Last year’s “NICS Improvement Act” codified ATF’s attempts to make a person a prohibited person on the basis of a government psychiatrist’s finding that he is a “danger” –- without a finding by any court. Well, roughly 150,000 battle-scarred veterans have already been unfairly stripped of their gun rights by the government.
Now, this new government-coordinated database threatens the gun rights of people who, as kids, were diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder… seniors with Alzheimer’s… police with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder… and many other law-abiding Americans.
Please vote against cloture on HR 1 until this provision is removed.

He’s a corporate whore of the highest magnitude. Do you have any idea who you voted for or was he just a different looking, (black), politician telling you he was going to change things. I didn’t realize how easily the American people can be manipulated. It’s really frustrating to see, especially when the people who voted for Obama are really good people who genuinely wanted change in D.C. But the system has lied to you again and again.
etc, etc,etc, etc, etc, etc…….
People you have to come to the realization that our country has been taken over by a criminal mafia know as “off-shore bankers,” and almost all of our American politicians are literally little paid-off treasonists scum who follow their agenda. It’s been going on for a long time. They are currently really pushing things quickly to try and bankrupt this country and swoop in and buy up all the valuable assets in our country for pennies on the dollar. They have been doing this to other countries for decades and now it’s Americas turn. But it does not have to be. Educate yourself because what we were taught in school is not how the political arena really works in this country. Too bad the American media hasn’t kept as close an eye on Barack Obama and his promises to clean up government as the Times of India has. Noting that Obama has already issues 17 exceptions to his no-lobbyist rules in the first two weeks of his inauguration, they wonder how it could worse:
It is easy to project yourself as a clean politician after making your debut in South Side Chicago with buddies like Rahm Emanuel. US president Obama has appointed more than 17 lobbyists after talking big on anti-lobbyist Governance and rooting corruption out of the American Government.
Dreams are dreams. Facts are facts. President Obama is surrounded by corrupt lobbyists ready to sell America cheap. …
Take the example of the newest exposure of doubletalk from Obama! After calling for clean Governance, he appoints a Treasury Secretary who “forgot” to pay for his ‘business tax’ for years! Tom Daschle, a top lobbyist in Washington, who has amended his U.S. tax forms to pay back taxes with interest, is now Obama’s best choice for America’s chief health official. …
Would you believe, Obama had to issue 17 waivers on his own rule in less than two weeks for allowing lobbyist enter his Administration and control Governance of America!
Well, that’s Hope and ChangeTM, isn’t it? When anyone has to issue more than a waiver a day on any standard, it ceases being a standard and becomes a joke. The no-lobbyist rule has become just that — an ironic joke on all of the saps who fell for Obama’s populist pap over the last two years.
Why do we have to go to the Times of India to hear how many exceptions to this rule Obama has invoked? If the Bush administration had publicly imposed such a restriction on itself and then quietly ignored it, we’d hear endless editorials about Bush’s hypocrisy and the influence of the rich and powerful on his administration. We heard exactly that when Dick Cheney assembled a group of advisors, without government positions or enforcement authority, to help him build an energy policy during the first term. Some watchdog groups went to court to force Cheney to reveal their names so that they could make that exact point.
But Obama appointing lobbyist after lobbyist to government positions, with enforcement power, despite his promise not to do that at all? Crickets chirp among the American media. I guess they’ve outsourced their Truth-to-Power divisions to India.

So how’s that “change” thing working out? Are we getting better, or more of the same, and why? In his first press conference, Obama labeled Iran a destabilizing influence in the Middle East because it allegedly sought nuclear weapons, while ignoring the longstanding Israeli nuclear threat to all its neighbors. And the same day, Obama Justice Department lawyers appeared in court to invoke the same defense against investigation of their secret cross-border kidnapping and torture schemes as Bush — that these widely known activities were “state secrets”. Have we heard any of this before?
Inthe past few years, newspapers and broadcast media around the worldhave printed and aired details of a lawless US government policy ofkidnapping civilians and flying them abroad for indefinite detentionand torture at the hands of client governments or its own militaryand civilian officials. Called “extraordinary rendition” by theBush Administration, which inherited it from its Democraticpredecessor, this illegal practice has been the subject of a numberof books reconstructing the flight plans and naming many of theso-called “black sites” where the illegal jailings andtortures took place. Despite the wealth of publicly available detailon these criminal practices, the Bush administration claimed that tobe answerable in court for this illegal conduct would compromise“state secrets,” and found federal judges to agree with thisridiculous claim.
Onhis first full day in office, President Obama renewed his pledge toclose the “black sites” without of course naming them and givinghimself a full year to do so, and declared that the US governmentwould observe legal norms from this point onward. So when some ofthe victims of Bush-era cross-border kidnapping and torture appearedin court Monday, the reasonable expectation was that the new JusticeDepartment would reverse itself and allow their lawsuits for damagesto proceed. Instead lawyers for the Obama Justice Department rose toobject to the case being heard in federal court on the same groundsthat the Bush-Cheney regime had employed — that revealing thecriminal conduct of US military and civilian officials in court, evenwhen this conduct is widely documented and well known, wouldjeopardize “state secrets.”
Butafter all the books and articles and news items, there are noremaining “state secrets” of any significance in the process ofcross-border kidnapping and torture. Looking backward, all that’sleft are details like how many times it happened, who was kidnappedand tortured, how many buried still alive or dead, and where thosebodies, animated and not, are now, and what dates which orders weregiven. But the president assures us he is not looking backward, sothe unidentified maimed, dead and missing, their torturers andenablers and the names of all but the highest officials involved —Bush, Cheney, Powell, Rice, Rumsfeld and their immediate deputies inand out of uniform — will appear on no court records, because Obama’sJustice Department, just like the Bush Justice Department, insiststhat all the details of their well known crimes, down to theidentities of the victims, are “state secrets.”
Aslegal and official falsehoods go, this one is naked and transparent. It provides past, present and future criminals on the civil servicepayroll the same cloak of immunity they enjoyed in the Bush-Cheneyyears. And it sets the tone, in many ways, for the newadministration.
Laterthat day, in a similar spirit of telling old lies and avoiding oldtruths, President Obama used his very first press conference to labelIran and its alleged quest for nuclear weapons as the pre-eminentthreat to peace and stability in the Middle East. Helen Thomas, themost senior reporter in the White House press corps, and the only oneto stand up to Obama’s predecessor, asked point-blank whether anyother countries in the Middle East possessed nuclear weapons. It isof course common knowledge that Israel has hundreds of nukes aimed atevery capital in the region from Tripoli to Teheran. No less amember of Obama’s cabinet than Robert Gates at his confirmationaffirmed that Israel has nukes, but it suited the new president torefuse to answer the question, to ignore Thomas’s follow-ups, and tofilibuster for four or five minutes in some other direction.
Tensof millions who voted for this president imagined they’d get realchange. But the reality is dawning on many that what we’re gettingis a lot more of the same. We have a president who repeatsdiscredited lies about “rogue regimes” with nuclear weapons, while he ignores Israel, a genuine 21st century apartheidstate, which has menaced its neighbors with nuclear weapons for morethan thirty years.
Obamavolunteered at some point during the press conference, that themoment the true import of his new job sank into him was when he hadto sign letters notifying the families of American dead, “ourheroes,” as he called them. The president made no mention of hisdecision, on this third day of office, to launch drones and cruisemissiles into Pakistan. Those missiles killed 17 people, includingseveral children. The drones were probably launched fromAfghanistan, and remotely piloted by stateside military personnel. Those dead, including the children, got no letters of regret from thepresident, and seemed not to register in the president’s publiccalculus. After all, they were not American heroes.
Theelection is over. Those unconditional Obama defenders who answer thepresident’s critics with “well what did you want, McCain?” aredoing what their president says he won’t do. They are living in thepast, looking backward instead of forward. It’s time to hold thecurrent president and his actions up to the cold light of day, toevaluate his performance in light of his promises and our legitimateexpectations for peace and justice. It’s time those of us who standfor peace and justice stop protecting the president. We may soonneed to be protected from him.

An official in the British government claims that reports made by the International Monetary Fund are being distorted due to pressure tactics by the world’s big powers. Adair Turner, chairman of England’s Financial Services Authority, told the Financial Times newspaper that one of the problems with the IMF is that the world’s big powers have used their diplomatic clout to tone down the fund’s reports focusing on their economies.Lord Turner cited the United States as an example, saying the IMF has yet to issue a report on the U.S. economy because the U.S. government did not want such a report to be released. It refused to participate in the IMF’s financial sector assessment program, agreeing to take part starting in 2006. The results of that evaluation are not due until at least 2010.
According to an IMF staffer, the British government is another power that is notorious for either exerting its influence in the fund’s economic evaluations or ignoring its warnings about fiscal deficits. Some emerging economies also refuse to be supervised by the IMF. China is a key example. The IMF’s board has not discussed China’s economy since 2006. The FT says this is based on the IMF’s awareness of controversy between China and the fund’s member nations over Beijing’s handling of its currency.
The IMF has yet to respond to Turner’s claims. But ahead of the G20 summit in London in April, it is facing greater pressure than ever to strengthen its supervisory system.

The USDA is not known for caring about black farmers. Here in the US, its massively discriminatory policies have resulted in reducing black farms from two million to less than 18,000 today.
“Black farmers have contended that white-dominated committees force foreclosures on black farms, which are then purchased by white farmers,” reports Tamara E. Holmes.
The National Black Farmers Association accused the department of discrimination between 1981 and 1996, but even though they won a settlement for what was done to them, it never yielded compensation for a majority of the growers who filed claims. Payments were denied to 81,000 of the 94,000 black farmers who sought restitution.
Perhaps Vilsack was referring to the USDA’s more than decimation of black farmers (“decimation” would have left 200,000 farmers) when, in listing his priorities the other day, he mentioned “finally closing the sad chapter of the Department’s struggle with civil rights…. We need to do a better job of … apologizing for mistakes when we make them….”
In the same breath, Vilsack spoke of “investing in programs that alleviate hunger and suffering overseas.” Africa. Black farmers, again.
But Vilsack is not actually proposing helping them. The USDA did not suddenly become pro-black farmer (or any small farmer). “[I]nvesting in programs that alleviate hunger and suffering overseas” is Monsanto-speak. It is code for forcing genetic engineering and patents over seeds onto Africa (and India and others). What Vilsack says sounds so compassionate and appealing to those liberals listening for change from the Obama administration and watching Vilsack to see if he is it.
But while his words are a neat combining of missionary and humanitarian language, Vilsack is still Monsanto’s boy and he is talking about colonizing Africa at the level of DNA. At that level, liberals miss what is going on. Everything is dressed up in science and humanitarian relief for needy Africans.
In his article “Starved for Science: How Biotechnology is Being Kept Out of Africa, Robert Paarlberg, a Wellesley professor (my alma mater) combines literal hunger with an utterly new concept – “starvation” for biotech. His choice of words neatly triggers those who legitimately care about Africans in need while actually suggesting stupidity and inadequacy on the part of Africans. Paarlberg says with apparently no sense of the immense condescension involved, “U.S. agricultural aid is needed to help African scientists to do their own modification of food crops. Let them get comfortable with the technology, and let them sell it to their governments.” Click here.
Oh, dumb, dumb African scientists.
Vilsack uses this same approach. What he is pushing as a priority of the USDA is a take over of African agriculture and a subjugation of people to the foreign control of their food supply by Monsanto and other multinationals. One doesn’t need guns and soldiers and visible take-overs. At the level of DNA, there are Monsanto laws and patents on seeds and lawyers and subtle or not so subtle elimination of access to normal seeds. All very neat and wrapped in humanitarian language. Science and suits come to Africa. But the end result is colonialism – farmers (and countries), against their will, becoming abjectly dependent and controlled from outside their country.
Mr. Obama is a Kenyan. Perhaps it would be appropriate for him to hear what Kenya farmers think about his new Secretary of Agriculture’s plans to “alleviate hunger and suffering” by inflicting Monsanto’s genetic engineering and the accompanying intellectual property laws and patents on them. And perhaps those who believe Africa is “starving for science” and too incompetent to think for itself, might listen as well.
THE THIKA DECLARATION ON GMOs
GMOs will increase costs for farmers. This new kind of agriculture has been produced using a complicated and expensive process called genetic engineering. To make their profits back from the farmers, the companies patent the GMO seeds, which leads to higher costs for farmers, who are then forbidden from saving and sharing their seeds for planting the following season. If the seeds fail, farmers are left in great destitution. The agrochemicals associated with GM crops will oblige farmers to pay the high prices set by the companies, and replace the need for paid farm labour, thereby threatening our livelihoods.
GMOs threaten Kenya’s environment. A clean environment is a fundamental right for all. GMOs on the contrary are contaminative, unfriendly to our biodiversity, and pose a threat to the existence of our indigenous seeds, to organic farming systems, and to human and animal health in general.
Our government is being arm-twisted to accept GMOs by multinationals, without considering the effects on small scale farmers.
Small scale farmers in Kenya should be included in policy formulation on agriculture research and food security. Government should invest in irrigation, improvement of infrastructure, appropriate technologies, marketing, subsidies, credit, farm inputs and better rangeland management, and NOT ON GMOs.
We believe that God created life, and no one can own it, not even Monsanto, Syngenta or other multinational companies. We therefore reject all GMOs in agriculture, and call upon the Kenyan government to respect our indigenous expertise. Therefore to be able to fully understand the effects of GMOs on our livelihoods, health and environment, we demand a twenty-year moratorium on GMOs in Kenya.”
The alleviation of hunger and suffering Monsanto and industrial agriculture brought to India has resulted over the last 10 years in the suicides of over 180,000 Indian farmers, with farmers’ deaths continuing at the rate of one every half hour.

Stop genetic engineering in the United States and our government imposing it elsewhere..
Commentary by Betsy McCaughey
Feb. 9 (Bloomberg) — Republican Senators are questioning whether PresidentBarack Obama’s stimulus bill contains the right mix of tax breaks and cash infusions to jump-start the economy.
Tragically, no one from either party is objecting to the health provisions slipped in without discussion. These provisions reflect the handiwork of Tom Daschle, until recently the nominee to head the Health and Human Services Department.
Senators should read these provisions and vote against them because they are dangerous to your health. (Page numbers refer to H.R. 1 EH, pdf version).
The bill’s health rules will affect “every individual in the United States” (445, 454, 479). Your medical treatments will be tracked electronically by a federal system. Having electronic medical records at your fingertips, easily transferred to a hospital, is beneficial. It will help avoid duplicate tests and errors.
But the bill goes further. One new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The goal is to reduce costs and “guide” your doctor’s decisions (442, 446). These provisions in the stimulus bill are virtually identical to what Daschle prescribed in his 2008 book, “Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis.” According to Daschle, doctors have to give up autonomy and “learn to operate less like solo practitioners.”
Keeping doctors informed of the newest medical findings is important, but enforcing uniformity goes too far.
Hospitals and doctors that are not “meaningful users” of the new system will face penalties. “Meaningful user” isn’t defined in the bill. That will be left to the HHSsecretary, who will be empowered to impose “more stringent measures of meaningful use over time” (511, 518, 540-541)
What penalties will deter your doctor from going beyond the electronically delivered protocols when your condition is atypical or you need an experimental treatment? The vagueness is intentional. In his book, Daschle proposed an appointed body with vast powers to make the “tough” decisions elected politicians won’t make.
The stimulus bill does that, and calls it the Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research (190-192). The goal, Daschle’s book explained, is to slow the development and use of new medications and technologies because they are driving up costs. He praises Europeans for being more willing to accept “hopeless diagnoses” and “forgo experimental treatments,” and he chastises Americans for expecting too much from the health-care system.
Elderly Hardest Hit
Daschle says health-care reform “will not be pain free.” Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them. That means the elderly will bear the brunt.
Medicare now pays for treatments deemed safe and effective. The stimulus bill would change that and apply a cost- effectiveness standard set by the Federal Council (464).
The Federal Council is modeled after a U.K. board discussed in Daschle’s book. This board approves or rejects treatments using a formula that divides the cost of the treatment by the number of years the patient is likely to benefit. Treatments for younger patients are more often approved than treatments for diseases that affect the elderly, such as osteoporosis.
In 2006, a U.K. health board decreed that elderly patients with macular degeneration had to wait until they went blind in one eye before they could get a costly new drug to save the other eye. It took almost three years of public protests before the board reversed its decision.
If the Obama administration’s economic stimulus bill passes the Senate in its current form, seniors in the U.S. will face similar rationing. Defenders of the system say that individuals benefit in younger years and sacrifice later.
The stimulus bill will affect every part of health care, from medical and nursing education, to how patients are treated and how much hospitals get paid. The bill allocates more funding for this bureaucracy than for the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force combined (90-92, 174-177, 181).
Hiding health legislation in a stimulus bill is intentional. Daschle supported the Clinton administration’s health-care overhaul in 1994, and attributed its failure to debate and delay. A year ago, Daschle wrote that the next president should act quickly before critics mount an opposition. “If that means attaching a health-care plan to the federal budget, so be it,” he said. “The issue is too important to be stalled by Senate protocol.”
More Scrutiny Needed
On Friday, President Obama called it “inexcusable and irresponsible” for senators to delay passing the stimulus bill. In truth, this bill needs more scrutiny.
The health-care industry is the largest employer in the U.S. It produces almost 17 percent of the nation’s gross domestic product. Yet the bill treats health care the way European governments do: as a cost problem instead of a growth industry. Imagine limiting growth and innovation in the electronics or auto industry during this downturn. This stimulus is dangerous to your health and the economy.

“Samples would be taken from anyone suspected of a Class B misdemeanor or above.”
Tuesday, February 10, 2009
For the first time, hundreds of thousands of Texans arrested on suspicion of crimes could be forced to give samples of their DNA to law enforcement officers under a change in state law being pushed by Texas’ top six police chiefs, including Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo.
Under the proposal, which faces an uncertain future in the current budget-cutting climate, DNA would be taken from everyone who is arrested on suspicion of committing Class B misdemeanors up to the most serious felonies.
Currently, DNA samples can be taken from anyone convicted of a felony and from those arrested for particularly violent crimes such as aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping and murder.
One supporter of expanded DNA testing, state Sen. Dan Patrick, R-Houston, said more samples would benefit crime-solving and the wrongly convicted — as the case of Timothy Cole recently proved.
Cole was wrongly convicted of a 1985 rape in Lubbock and died in prison in 1999, before DNA tests proved his long-held claims of innocence.
“Timothy Cole would never have gone to prison if we could have had DNA from people who are arrested. … That’s a most compelling argument,” Patrick said. “The bigger the database of DNA samples we have, the better we can find those who are innocent.”
Acevedo agreed: “In the end, it would make the criminal justice system better — by helping bring the guilty to justice and protecting the falsely convicted or accused.”
Opponents says it legally overreaches by collecting samples from thousands who may never be charged with, much less convicted of, a crime. The same controversy arose two years ago when federal officials began collecting DNA from most everyone arrested by a federal law enforcement agency.
“This is incredibly personal, private information,” said Rebecca Bernhardt, policy director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Texas. “There are a lot of people who are arrested who are never charged or convicted of a crime. It may create a temptation to arrest someone.”
Even so, critics and some supporters agree on this: The proposal could be doomed because of its estimated $32 million minimum price tag.
According to figures provided by the police chiefs and the Texas Department of Public Safety, about 872,000 Texans were arrested last year on suspicion of crimes ranging from Class B misdemeanors on up — 940,500 if juvenile lawbreakers are included. Besides Acevedo, the chiefs are from Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Houston and El Paso.
Houston police Lt. Scott Siscoe and lawmakers who have been briefed on the chiefs’ plan said it proposes that all felony arrestees give DNA samples beginning in 2010 and that Class B misdemeanor arrestees be added in 2012. The proposal also allows DNA samples to be destroyed once they are recorded in the database.
“The database could only be used by law enforcement, not for genetic reasons or insurance or anything else,” Siscoe said.
Additionally, people who have criminal charges against them dropped could have their DNA removed from the state’s database, Acevedo said.
“One of the Biggest Front Organizations On Earth, The United Nations, wants more U.S. domestic power.” These guys are not just in the “saving” starving African children business. Their tentacles run deep throughout the world. Another “smile in your face-stab you in the back” organization. The corruption begins with the way the land was acquired where the U.N. building sits in New York. You should be outraged as an American by this story.”
Exclusive: UN Convention on the Rights of the Child Would Threaten the American Family
January 9, 2009
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) is a treaty that is extremely damaging to parental rights and the family structure, as well as our national sovereignty. The CRC was signed by President Bill Clinton in 1995, but opposition by members of the Senate kept the treaty from being ratified. Legislators found that it was incompatible with the rights of the parents to raise their children. But new Democrat majorities in Congress and a new administration in the White House make ratification of the CRC far more likely. President-elect Barack Obama has already expressed his support of the CRC and has said, “It is embarrassing to find ourselves in the company of Somalia,” the only other UN nation not to ratify the CRC. If our government were to ratify the CRC, the UN would undermine parental authority through government control of our children.
President Barack Obama and the CRC
The Child Rights Information Network has assessed the chances of the CRC being ratified by the USA under the presidency of Barack Obama. The article discusses the legal implications in detail:
